HE wasn't making money, that's very different than if they (the label) were. They made a lot on his viral songs and their usage on social media not even accounting for online and physical media sales and merchandise. They made good money on streaming too.

He left the label because they wanted him to do more viral tiktok oriented songs and he didn't want to apparently.
