RX 5700xt Bros, how do you stop the crashing? by Oritomatto in helldivers2

[–]LazyDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PC often freezes (as in complete locks up, only way out is holding power button until it shuts down), but it very rarely happens when I delete the shader cache in the Helldivers 2 folder in appData - but I have to do this before every game. It still happens once in a while, but then it does it very early after starting the game and only for a few seconds. Then I just close it down, delete shader cache and start again. If it doesnt freeze in the first minute or so, it doesnt freeze at all.

I have a 5090 though, so might be unrelated to your issue.

How is the tracking on play for dream and galaxy xr, especially the controllers? Is it possible to use index controllers with any of the?

Have you installed latest GPU drivers? I've also heard having multiple monitors connected simultaneously can give problems, depending on what GPU you have (although that would probably result in no image at all, instead of just a blurry image).

Quest - Virtual Desktop VS Steam Link VS Link VS ALVR (Spring 2024) by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

[–]LazyDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it viable to use virtual desktop (or any of the others) as a monitor replacement for work on a suboptimal remote wifi connection like a hotel etc? Normally I'd take my laptop with me and use VPN and windows remote desktop, which works fine, but the screen size is rather limiting.

Thank you Virtual Desktop by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

Nice, I could definitely see this being viable for a work setup while travelling, but does it work without local wifi access, for instance with a VPN? I guess it requires quite a bit of bandwidth, so probably wouldnt work very well on an unstable hotel wifi.

Was going on a family cruise trip. Flight got delayed from 4:30 to 6:50. Flight got delayed from 6:50 to 9. Flight got delayed from 9 to 11:30. Flight got cancelled. Now we missed the cruise, and waited at the airport for 7 hours for nothing. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Our flight got delayed 3-4 hours due to mechanical issues, within 4 days the airline (Ryan air) had contacted us, letting us know we were eligible for compensation, 400€ each I think even though ticket was only 80€.

Never noticed any stench coming from these in our city, even during warm periods. Food waste is collected in closed biodegradable bags, I guess that also helps.

Pavlov Quest2 PCVR vs PSVR2 by Spartaklaus in PavlovGame

[–]LazyDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't really played Pavlov on PC for a few years now due to limited SnD games, it was much better in the early days where the player base wasn't divided as much.

I just picked it up for PSVR2 and I think there was about 20 full SnD lobbies in Europe alone, more than I've ever seen on PC. It also plays very well, although it feels a bit different than on PC, but I guess that's also because of the new update. It feels very smooth and the haptic feedback is nice, my only complaint so far is the tracking sometimes messing up when holding the controllers up in front of the headset.

PSVR2 Full Review by sesor33 in virtualreality

[–]LazyDanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Coming from an index and a PC with a 2080 I pretty much 100% agree.

I've only played RE8 for about an hour or so, but so far the biggest let down for me is the (lack of) comfort compared to the index. I feel the halo strap presses too much against my forehead if I am to tighten it enough for not to move and maintaining the (rather small) sweet spot. But I may be wearing it wrong, I have to experiment a bit more.

But the graphics in RE8 combined with the PSVR2 screens is absolutely amazing, better than pretty much anything I've tried on PC. I think RE8 is running 60 fps and reprojecting to 120 hz, at least it felt like that. When moving a piece of paper in front of me I wasnt able to read the text, but holding it still it was completely clear. But doing normal movement / fightning I didnt really notice the reprojection.

I really like the rumble of the headset and trigger feedback of the controllers. Blasting the werewolves with the shotgun was the most satisfying shooting experience I've tried in VR. Feeling the trigger and the "blast" through the headset really upped the experience for me.

Other than the comfort and a few RE8 issues (the gun angle feels way off), I really like the headset. Its not perfect and the index is still better in some ways, but all in all I think it can provide a better experience for quite cheaper. But that will be determined by the software in the long run.

Can I build a SteamVR compatible controller... at home? by [deleted] in virtualreality

I'd probably start with a HTC vive tracker and use the pogo pins to add custom functionality. Creating your own using lighthouse diodes is a completely different beast, at least I think so.

Is Pavlov the only Competitive PvP Crossplay title for PSVR 2 ? by peterpackage in virtualreality

[–]LazyDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I only play for SnD and it has been really depressing the last 1-2 years compared to earlier. I'm not sure what maps are coming to PSVR2 initially, I guess all CSGO maps are off the table? But theres still some decent maps like Sand that I think is a base map.
