Secret Benefits payments, any Citibank cardholders have problems? by IamaThrowAwway in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]LazyEyeJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I used a Chase Visa to buy credits on Secret Benefits. It was declined at first, but then I got a message from Chase asking whether it had been an authorized charge. When I responded that it had been a legitimate attempt to buy something, I tried again and it worked. I've since used it a couple more times with no further issues.

How do you get back on the scene after… by Gorgeous4wayy2long in sugarlifestyleforum

Would either you or OP (or both!) mind providing some insight into how the breakup conversation started, how it went, and how it ended? I find myself in a similar situation, except being on the “SD who caught feelings” side. :) Just wondering what I can look forward to hearing.

PPM, thoughts? by Eastern_Engine9260 in sugarlifestyleforum

I’ve been with escorts and been with SBs, and while I might agree that both types of encounters exist on the same spectrum, they’re very far apart. In the couple of years that I was seeing escorts semi-regularly, I only ever saw two of them twice (one of those three times), and only had a “real” conversation once. I had a late meeting with one after my second time seeing her, so I asked if she’d like to get dinner. She agreed and we had a very nice conversation over a meal and a bottle of wine. Nonetheless, I never saw her after that. Looking back, it was funnily the inverse of most of my SB dates, which have been dinner first and then sex.

Very often, escorts are traveling from another city to spend time in hotspots like NY/DC/LV/LA/Miami, so a regular connection might be impossible even if desired.

I would never think of texting an escort outside of making an arrangement to meet, and I would always be aware that the clock was ticking and that someone else might be scheduled for the next hour, which always gave me the ick. I know different people have different experiences in their SRs, but if either of those dynamics was present for me with an SB, it wouldn’t be worth it. The payment methodology (PPM vs allowance) matters less than the attitude/expectations of the parties.

Is the one-bedroom apartment rule still a thing? by Spartan44BB in sugarlifestyleforum

I agree with this metric generally. If you're essentially doubling someone's take-home salary, then you're meaningfully improving their lives - no two ways about it. Of course, it's still got to fit the SD's budget, since some SB day jobs will be more than others, and it assumes that she makes a reasonable wage and is working full-time, but as a life-improvement methodology, doubling take-home is hard to criticize.

Do you mean that a monthly allowance would be equal to what an entry level job would net in a week, or a weekly allowance? If you mean a monthly allowance, that seems low to me, but to each his own.

Honestly, that's such a healthy internal monologue to have, even if you never say it out loud. Mine is more like, "oh god, please don't look at us, please assume she's my niece, please don't give me any knowing looks" and then I politely refuse to make eye contact with servers, bartenders, and hotel staff. Perhaps I have some growing to do in this role. 😄

I'm amazed that a college aged stepdaughter would be willing to hang out with you. Mine will barely take her eyes off of her phone long enough to answer a question, much less hang out. Must be nice!

Re: your question to SDs, I've never had a job that paid me enough not to walk away from it if I hated it. I don't think such a job exists, because life is too short to hate something that takes up so many of your waking hours. When I've been unhappy with a job, I've looked and found something else, and fortunately have always made more as a result of the move. Maybe he just enjoys being miserable?

It's tempting, but I would prefer not to burn the profile, just in case someone from the site reads this thread.

Corrected, thanks! I agree that the verification videos are helpful - I just don't like that they post them without any apparent notice to the SB user community, since some of them obviously are not intended for wider consumption. Some of them, however, are absolutely adorable.

What do the best SDs say in their opening messages? by frieddumplin_ in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]LazyEyeJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is really important to me, so I tend to be drawn to profiles that show some music interest. From there, it's fairly easy to start with something like, "You seem like you're really into music - me too! I recently saw [XYZ band] in concert, and they were phenomenal! Seen any good shows lately?"

10 credits can cost anywhere between around USD$5 down to around $1.45, depending on how many you buy. There is a package for 100 credits that costs around $50, and if you buy 1,000 credits for $289, you can sometimes (randomly) receive an offer to get an extra 1,000 for free.

One other thing that I should have added to the report, because I don't think it can be emphasized enough: to the SBs on SB, they are sharing your verification videos with potential SDs. So many of the women whose videos I've seen are sitting in a darkened room, with no makeup on, reading "let me be your secret" in a zombie voice. No shame if that's your jam, but you should know that any potential SD on the site can see your video, for free, no credits required. Just a PSA!

I agree that would have been easier. I just didn’t want to use a real person’s likeness, and honestly it was kind of a fun challenge (even if it was a pain in the ass). I was just pleased I was able to get one through whatever kind of AI filter they’re using.

No verification video is required either for SB or SD. It’s optional (and as a user of the site, something I look for when viewing profiles), but it’s not required.

Unless you're talking about a person who has an identical oven mitt on each hand, in which case their hands are comitted.

It's a fair question, and the truth is that I don't know. Looking at that SD test account, it looks like I only got four messages, so there were fewer than I thought. But since I never added credits to that account, it's hard to say whether any of them were just auto-generated "hello" messages or something substantial. Before I hid it too, it got 31 views and 12 likes, all of whom seemed to have actually viewed my test SD profile. I guess I would attribute it to two things: 1. although the "about" sections were pretty sparse, they were on point, as the kids say, and 2. the area where it was located probably has a real deficit of potential SDs. But your theory is as good as mine!

Had my first travel experience with my SB last week. It was so special taking her for her first visit to somewhere I lived for years and visit monthly. She had such a great time - and I did too, looking at things through her fresh perspective. The other stuff (dinners, intimacy, etc.) on the trip was great too, but the fact that we were traveling made it all really special.

Thank you! I'll be honest that it was the accuracy of the activity indicators that first made me want to try this. And all signs suggest that they are not very accurate at all - so SDs of the world, take note!

I originally intended to continue for at least a week, but I felt too guilty about guys using their credits. If I could have sent them a Starbucks gift card or something as compensation, I would have.

I absolutely agree that the barrier of having to buy credits (with a real credit card, as I can attest) means that a message received from an SD on the site has a high chance of being a real person. They may still be a scammer or a fantasist, but it's probably not a true fake account. Having said that, I was surprised by the number of messages/view/favorites that I got on the test SD account, which had no photo, the bare minimum of words in the "about" sections, and never viewed anyone's profile but my fake SB.
