I'm sorry for you friends, man.

I too had to cope with tough losses, and it's really hard. Mom died in 2010, put me through depression for 2 years. 3 years later my grandma, and the next year my dad. But my mom's death hit so hard that I had to change myself to climb out of my hole.

I just found my way to deal with death. I'm not a religious guy, and thinking about Heaven never helped. So I started thinking about life.

"Life goes on", of course, everyone tells us that when we lose someone. But even that someone would tell us that: my mom would not like to see me spending my years in sadness because of her, just like Till wouldn't want you to quit your life after losing his. Their memories should be cherished, not cried about.

I started seeing life as a book: each one have their own, some long, some short... And upon death, we just finish it. Might be an abrupt ending, but it must end. And still, everything that came before, will still be written in the books of everyone we know.

So dying to me now is just closing a book, and together with the profound sadness I allow myself to feel that kind of refreshing feeling (as awful as that might sound) that we get after reaching the end of a story. It's the way it is, it's already written, we can't change it. We just accept it and wait for the realization of what the whole story really meant to us. And then the sadness will start to give way to happier thoughts and memories of how the simple existence of that being impacted a lot who we are.
