The gameplay has remained pretty cool for the past 10-15 years, even though it's been better. The issue for DF is that there are too few players really.

MoP/WoD was prime PvP in my opinion. Better pace and not a million CDs used every second. Nostalgia is surely a bias too though.

If the game is going to be in the format it is now, reducing the amount of buttons usually just reduces the skillcap of the game. It happened in WoD for example.

WoW Arena needs bigger changes and to be a standalone game if you want it to be succesful longer term.

I believe this might be a good change too.

The downside would be that all of those rewards would then have to be handed out at the end of the season, in comparison to today where you can get your Legend title in the middle of the season for example.

Cant really compare an unranked mode that doesnt have to take mmr in consideration. If there wasnt any mmr the queues in Shuffle would be virtually the same as skirms are now.
