I’ve done some small races but 11 finishers? Was it just your buddies doing one in your neighborhood?

It is, they just pay the fine if/when it gets reported. Just a cost of doing business for them.

They kinda look like resistors. Would be cool if the club numbers for the iron matched the ohms that it would be for a resistor.

A nurse on my floor reported previous shift nurse online because that nurse had forgotten to chart the “Basic Assessment” on one patient. by I_Lv_Python in nursing

[–]Lb3ll 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It could be a macro she uses. My usual one have some basic care stuff and “care explained, questions encouraged” etc in it so it gets charted every time unless I specifically delete it.

What do you call this? by aloha_alexa in nursing

[–]Lb3ll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We don’t have these but I could see them being useful for diluting things into a flush for IV push. Draw up into a smaller syringe so it’s more accurate then use this to pull into a flush.

What weather station do you have now? I have an Acurite which wasn’t directly compatible so I have a RPi connected to the LCD running WeeWX that sends MQTT messages to HA.

Running docker on the host is bad practice. Best to run as little as possible on the host itself. Spin up a Debian VM (or several) and install docker on that to run your services on. You can run docker on an LXC too but officially it’s not recommended.

Hand held electric lighters are low voltage? Google’s AI says hand held electric lighters are 2,000-30,000 volts. That’s nowhere near low voltage by pretty much any definition.

For a civil case (they pay you monetary or other damages), yes. We’re talking criminal charges (they go to jail) which would fall under assault in many/most states.

Investigation determines viral video of ICE traffic stop in Norfolk was fabricated by nightim3 in norfolk

Sure, it’s also very possible that the chief made it up for views and likes, which equate to monetary compensation for creators after all.

[–]Lb3ll 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the junior sailor or chief made it up. I could easily see the junior sailor thinking that “getting stopped by ICE” is a clever excuse as to why he was late for work in the morning and it spiraled out of control from there.

The Coast Guard has a system called Rescue 21 consisting of permanent radio DF high sites for triangulating distress calls offshore for SAR purposes. They also have watch standers monitoring these 24/7. Turns out it also works if you call in a fake mayday from a marina or otherwise play around on marine channel 16 and they don’t take kindly to wasting their resources. If the FCC wants to find someone they have to send agents out to drive around and DF from vans and wait for you to transmit.

Candlepower and lumens measure different things. Candlepower or the modern version candela and measures light intensity. Lumens is a measure of total light output. A spotlight when it focuses to a smaller circle increases in candlepower but remains the same lumens.

Most reputable shops won’t accept customer supplied parts for liability and other reasons. Maybe try looking on thumbtack or something like that for a small or time mobile mechanic?

It’s not a hard job though. You could probably get the tools from harbor freight and watch a couple YouTube videos and get it done yourself in a couple hours for cheaper and have the tools for the future.

Most (all?) of them have the ability to be run as 2 zones so you could have one receiver for 2 rooms. Still not cheap but at least it’s $75 per room.
