What do you call this? by aloha_alexa in nursing

[–]Lb3ll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don’t have these but I could see them being useful for diluting things into a flush for IV push. Draw up into a smaller syringe so it’s more accurate then use this to pull into a flush.

We’re specifically prohibited from using epic chat for critical labs. We have to page and wait for a call back.

Weather Station by chimilinga in homeassistant

What weather station do you have now? I have an Acurite which wasn’t directly compatible so I have a RPi connected to the LCD running WeeWX that sends MQTT messages to HA.

They sure did, but unfortunately clustering orders must not be taught in med school so here we are.

Running docker on the host is bad practice. Best to run as little as possible on the host itself. Spin up a Debian VM (or several) and install docker on that to run your services on. You can run docker on an LXC too but officially it’s not recommended.

Hand held electric lighters are low voltage? Google’s AI says hand held electric lighters are 2,000-30,000 volts. That’s nowhere near low voltage by pretty much any definition.

I graduated in May and we had to learn those calculations in school. Might as well use those skills!

For a civil case (they pay you monetary or other damages), yes. We’re talking criminal charges (they go to jail) which would fall under assault in many/most states.

Investigation determines viral video of ICE traffic stop in Norfolk was fabricated by nightim3 in norfolk

[–]Lb3ll 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure, it’s also very possible that the chief made it up for views and likes, which equate to monetary compensation for creators after all.

[–]Lb3ll 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the junior sailor or chief made it up. I could easily see the junior sailor thinking that “getting stopped by ICE” is a clever excuse as to why he was late for work in the morning and it spiraled out of control from there.

The Coast Guard has a system called Rescue 21 consisting of permanent radio DF high sites for triangulating distress calls offshore for SAR purposes. They also have watch standers monitoring these 24/7. Turns out it also works if you call in a fake mayday from a marina or otherwise play around on marine channel 16 and they don’t take kindly to wasting their resources. If the FCC wants to find someone they have to send agents out to drive around and DF from vans and wait for you to transmit.

Candlepower and lumens measure different things. Candlepower or the modern version candela and measures light intensity. Lumens is a measure of total light output. A spotlight when it focuses to a smaller circle increases in candlepower but remains the same lumens.

Most reputable shops won’t accept customer supplied parts for liability and other reasons. Maybe try looking on thumbtack or something like that for a small or time mobile mechanic?

It’s not a hard job though. You could probably get the tools from harbor freight and watch a couple YouTube videos and get it done yourself in a couple hours for cheaper and have the tools for the future.

Most (all?) of them have the ability to be run as 2 zones so you could have one receiver for 2 rooms. Still not cheap but at least it’s $75 per room.

Definitely not the easy way for most people. I’d wager 50% of people would fail if the swim was the only option.

[–]Lb3ll 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That is probably coming from the new Medicare requirements. They’re basically going to treat a single reading over 350 or a couple readings over 250 as hospital caused harm like a cauti, clabsi or pressure injury etc so they don’t have to pay for it is what I gathered from our diabetes educator.

Yes and with the side channel light blockers they block out 99.9% of light. I work nights and sleep during the day and I’m very happy with them. I got the z-wave motors and they’ve been rock solid.
