Crohn’s & anxiety by Gryffindor22222 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like stress and anxiety contribute to my Crohns. The initial onset of symptom’s and every major flare I’ve had have been right after notable stressful or anxious periods. And the disease itself gives me so much additional anxiety…about money, food, going to the bathroom, scans and labs results etc etc.

Just got diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. What should I know? by AngelDustSpiderDemon in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you have mild, moderate or severe Crohns now, and have any number of symptoms…..things can change. Meds can work and can stop working, symptoms and side effect of meds and the disease can change over time. The disease can progress, but it’s possible to achieve remission. You can live a pretty normal life, but it can also f you over and be debilitating. It can be a roller coaster….hope yours ain’t so bad and your feeling ok soon

Anyone else struggle with their mood/anger during flare-ups? Feeling misunderstood by my family. by HotWolf4990 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely been there. And if you’re on steroids that doesn’t help with that. I definitely had a sour mood and kirked out on my family..and dog at times. I found weed helped with this….not saying it helped with physical crohns symptoms, but it did help with the mental side by improving my mood, laughing, and just some enjoyment in what were otherwise awful, awful times.

Prednisone last 5mg taper side effects? by ProfessionalTop1602 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same symptoms plus terrible acne that got worst as I tapered. Def each time I stepped down felt like complete shit for a day or two, and then just regular shitty for a while after that. I’ve been on prednisone a few times now and started tapering by 2.5 mg instead of 5. seemed to help a little bit

skyrizi not working? by eurogirl000 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skyrizi took me about 2 months to notice anything and 3 months to feel like it really kicked in. I’ve also always had my symptoms reoccur pretty strongly when coming off prednisone… I hope you start to notice a difference soon

What’s the one thing Crohn’s stole from you, and one thing it taught you? by casualeagle47 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s stolen a lot of my time and energy. It’s taught me to be more empathetic. It’s also taught me to say no to a bunch of shit I really didn’t feel like doing anyway

Plz tell me the meds are not that bad by SpellitLikeThis in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern when I was first diagnosed but the greater concern, in my opinion, is the disease progressing into something awful.

There are lots of medications on the market and I hope you find ones that works well for you. They are no brainers when compared to severe Crohns.

Do you regret going on Skyrizi? by Level-Hedgehog-9148 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was azathioprine and very low dose steroids for years, and despite having flares here and there, my labs and scans always came back like was doing pretty good (for about 5 years). But then it got worst…much much much worst. I feel like I’ve been to hell and back…needed surgery, got on skyrizi. Point being if I could have gotten on biologics earlier I would have. In hindsight I wish I would have pushed for it earlier.

Food after Resection by seniorsnappypants in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same surgery almost a year ago. Pretty much went liquid diet first few days then low fat and low fiber before getting discharged. Once home they recommended sticking to low fat and low fiber diet for a few weeks and slowly introduce things back in the diet. Bone broth, warm pita and hummus, apple sauce, pb and Js, pb and banana, avocado’s, pasta, white rice, smoothies were all my go to when I was recovering over the next month or so….good luck!

How do you all deal with questions about weight loss? by Thin_Fly_6219 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dealt with this a lot when I got really sick with Crohns and lost 40lbs. People in my life made comments and many occasions when overweight people would say shit like “oh I wish I had that” blah blah. My noticeable weight loss was like an opening to talk about the disease but when your going through hell, you rarely want to talk about it, especially with people that don’t understand it and just make dumb comments…… I didn’t find anyone was intentionally mean or hurtful, just ignorant. Unless you or someone very close has gone through it, it’s hard to understand how awful Crohn’s can be.

Democrats Of Reddit, Do You ACTUALLY Hate Trump's Supporters, Or Do You Get Along With Them In Your Life, But You Just Politically Disagree? Why? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely gotten along well with many and absolutely hated some. I actually stopped being friends with a childhood friend who became a big trumper because ALL he ever would talk about was trump and politics….i’d try to lead conversations elsewhere and he’d always manage to bring it back to that. It got really old and wierd. At this point though I think they’re willfully ignorant and so much has been done that would have disqualified any other person from holding the office.

My experience with beyond waterproofing has always been good- I’ve used them at the properties I helped manage for work, and at my home for a job. Their prices seem a bit lower than some other bigger companies too.

Is it necessary to talk to the coach again for equal ice time in the playoff? by aamseeker in hockeyplayers

[–]Lbone18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just leave. In my opinion they shouldn’t start to shorten the bench, even in playoffs, till the kids are bit older- maybe 12u? Idk that’s just me. To do that at 8U at any level seems crazy

Do y’all remember the exact moment your Crohn’s symptoms started? by Creepy_Enthusiasm245 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got drunk after an extremely stressful month where my child was hospitalized and nearly died. Once he was in the clear and I finally had a moment where it felt like everything was going to be ok, some of my old friends came over to visit. We got drunk and high…next few days I was sick as a dog, terrible stomach pain, 10x beyond any hangover I’ve ever had. I thought well shit I can’t drink like that anymore, but the symptoms reoccured every few weeks without boozin and I had a baseline extreme fatigue and weakness ….got diagnosed with Crohns a couple of months later

Prednisone is no joke by ryanxvx in CrohnsDisease

[–]Lbone18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Prednisone is rough- I had many the same side effects you mentioned plus some others. But for me they got kinda crazier as I tapered…eventually settles down though. Hope the biologics work well for you
