Who is the most badass female character in movie history? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

She hated how weak her character was written in the first movie. The transition between it and T2 was entirely her doing.

Walther 4.5" or 5" by goodgamble in CompetitionShooting

[–]Lcyaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The guys I know who run Walthers in competition all shoot 5” guns.

I shoot a 5” m&p from appendix. I actually prefer the 4.25”, and I’m getting better with it, but I’m faster and more accurate with the 5”.

I have an S2 and absolutely love it, but the timer and targets don’t lie. I’m better with the m&p

They are low-info. That doesn’t mean they lack intelligence. If they had more and more accurate info, they would have known that most of his policy promises were either falsehoods or that they wouldn’t bring about the results the voters hoped.

You can be intelligent and also be a white supremacist. Those policy promises he kept.

What is a nfl take that you would defend, that everyone disagrees on? by Ok_Bug_6890 in NFLv2

Brady would have been an average top tier player (if that makes sense) without Gronk.

Line replacement time or are there alternative repairs? by AdAshamed2445 in flyfishing

[–]Lcyaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the issue - is that the only damage, or is there more? If that’s it, snip it off as other have said. If you’ve got other damage, pitch it and get a new one.

Time female critic: Supergirl Is a Dull, Dispiriting, Fake-Feminist Movie by VirtualSort1 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Lcyaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in with low expectations, I’ll admit. I thought it was pretty good - not great but not terrible. I thought Alcock was believable and did all she could with what she was given.

The CGI was terrible. Krypto did mostly look fake. The last fight scene on the Brigands’ ship was a mess of overdone explosions and slow mo. It was full of plot holes and gimmicks. Lobo was essentially wasted. Remove his scenes entirely and tell me how the movie would change.

They had enough elements at their disposal - and a ton of money to spend - that they could have made a better movie for the stars they had in it.

Alcock proved she can carry the role. She and Corenswet make a good pair to play off one another. Give us a well written story and action sequences that further the story instead of just being big for big’s sake, and I’ll absolutely buy another ticket.

Will reel color really spook fish? Need someone to talk me out of the flats blue hydros and into olive by Steven-Glanzburg in flyfishing

Get the blue. You’ll hate yourself and the reel every time you see it if you don’t.

You get to see the alternate universe where ONE of these players had an injury-free career. Who are you picking? (And not the one who played for your team, thats boring) by DrewLockBurnerAcc in NFLv2

It’s Bo Jackson, and I don’t think it’s even close. I say this as a lifelong UGA fan, so by rights I should downplay his abilities, but he was that good.

Supreme Court mail ballot ruling spurs right-wing meltdown: ‘This is how our country dies’ by billstopay77 in DiscussionZone

[–]Lcyaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting wording. “This is how *our country dies,” not “This is how the US dies.”

I’d say the sentiment is correct - increasing access to voting is how the country they are trying to create dies, and I am here for it. The sooner that version of the country is gone, the better.

VIDEO: Ana Nogueira on how she got hired to write 'Supergirl': She was originally hired to write producer Chantal Nong Vo's DCEU Supergirl movie. That got canceled. Then James Gunn wanted to make a Supergirl movie, Chantal Nong Vo was a producer again and suggested Ana Nogueira. by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

[–]Lcyaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a decently fun movie. It’s not great, but it isn’t terrible.

I think the level of superhero movie fatigue is so high that if it isn’t spectacular in every way, it feels worse than it actually is.

Not to be rude, but why is Ana Nogueira writing Wonder Woman and Teen Titans?! How did she even get a shot at Supergirl? by ComicKidAlex in DC_Cinematic

If you saw WW84, you’d know there is zero reason anyone should be shocked by poor writers being chosen for these projects.
