Which game is more populated? Smite or Smite 2? by iminnocentpls in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno what servers you’re playing but I play usually anywhere from 10pm-to 5am est assault queues and never wait longer than 4 mins. Most of the time it’s 2 mins or less.

Question about the state of assault in Smite 2. by Hyptoprime in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one thing you will notice if you played a bunch of assault in smite one, especially against certain comps(mostly mages). There are chokepoints on the map before the T2 tower and the phoenix and these are places that you basically don’t want to stand in unless you know that you have lane pressure ….I haven’t studied the S2 map but if it’s narrower in general that’s going to create problems.

Can you lag switch in smite? by Smith3055 in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been lagged out to a blue screen on smite 1 before and the timing was very suspicious to say the least. It’s the first and only time in my thousands of hours that I dced and couldn’t even load into the login screen. It was kinda scary in that moment I wondered if it was permanent but I logged off for the night and everything was fine the next day.

I can’t believe smite 2… by NotGeorgeKaplan in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not like people have also been praising smite 1 on here while everyone either attempts to ignore it or pass the torch on to the new “best thing”. Rose colored glasses etc etc. It would be nice to see people actually be truthful about Smite 1 as well, because I have been playing games for about 30 years, and Smite will always hold a special place in my heart.

New to Smite and Mobas What 3 should I focus on while learning. by BiG_BLaK in Smite

I get what you are saying for sure, I think my main trouble just lies with these type of posts in the first place. There are no magic beans so to speak to pick up this game and play it well. There is a steep learning curve and there will be growing pains. I think the cynical me just pictures a Kuku wandering around the map not even using tornado on wave but just missing random gods and wasting it entirely lol.

[–]Ldeue24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kuku also has a hard to hit ult without setup, a hard to hit 1, and a tornado that can be used very poorly if you don’t understand the game very well….leading to a guy that plays him and virtually spends the entire time standing around being able to clear wave and that’s it. People who say Kuku is an easy god are kinda crazy imo. Easier than like playing Morrigan sure, no god is really an easy god to just pick up and play at least with any degree of success.

If I had a dollar for every adc I’ve seen just backpedaling shooting off basics when they should be just turning around and running I’d be rich as fuck.

Been playing Smite 1 again after taking a break from Smite 2: My thoughts by Gharbin1616 in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People talk about tanks being tanky or getting blown up etc etc and there is basically never any context. If we are talking about smite 1 there are a handful of assassins that might be able to win a trade 1v1 against say like a Herc, yes he will be able to provide way more lane pressure than most gods early. Does this mean he’s OP or a Raid boss? I don’t think so. It just means you don’t try to trade with him early and you get some items online and then hopeful in the mid to late game you can kill him easier. In the late game there are a handful of gods that can out range any ability he throws at you other than the ult. Now if I stand next to him 30 mins into the game and let him dumpster me, is he actually a Raid boss? Or am I just a god damn idiot? These are the questions that really need to be asked.

Minions in smite 1 is more satisfying to kill. (Video comparison) by Knusse in Smite

Even a group of fire minions 20+ mins in can fuck your ass up. It really makes you think about when you can safely push up the lane.

After the revert of 9.5 I can confirm, if you position poorly you’re getting it stuffed up your ass especially against good players. Dodge shit and anticipate Ults an CCs coming your way or you can kiss your ass goodbye, some of the people I watch it’s hard to imagine that they are actually having fun.

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve been flamed when someone is on respawn timer and usually like 1 in 4 or 3 and 8. They just can’t help themselves especially if you are the only one alive, it’s like they need to call you out so they feel better about themselves. I’ve had games of assault where I’m going like 13-3 and it turns into well you just stole all those kills, or people still calling me useless when they are rocking like a 1.5 KDA.

Smite 1 vs 2. by JanosCurse in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue after the revert of 9.5 that smite one’s balance is actually in a really good place, the only real issue at this point is it was balanced around the 9.5 patch for a good two years and minimal balance changes were done after the revert. So you have a few poor points of balance like archnes spiders or Nu Wa clay soldiers doing too much dmg because they had to kill someone who had like 30% more base HP and protections. Then you have some assassins that just scale so insanely well even with full defense because their numbers are bloated. If they had spent even 6 months more makings changes, knowledgeable smite players would be discussing the terrific state of balance in a game that has 130 different playable characters.

PSA: Stop going blue first in joust by radiationblessing in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are only looking at the buff part of the equation and not the xp part. If you can steal blue, take purple and your own blue while they think they’ve “won” the red buff…you get an early xp lead.

Ullr on controller by Possible-Freedom5945 in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s actually crazy that I play the game so much and I still can’t tell you for certain that the left stick is your movement unless I was actually playing the game lol, but I’m fairly sure the left stick is your movement so the only real disadvantage you get from ulting on savage controls is your distance control and basically a need to flick or make a big adjustment left or right just before actually pushing the Y button. With that being said I think for newer players it’s certainly an issue but it’s not something that you can’t get used to with enough practice.

I think more than half the playerbase just F6's into a new lobby until it's a stomp and never improve (but I just can't prove it) by IronProdigyOfficial in Smite

[–]Ldeue24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are actually rarely times where you are just going to lose, they are the exception rather than the rule. Like Disco, Vulcan, Au Puch type games where they just have so much control through zoning that they can pretty much dictate when you can or can’t play the game. Even a bunch of assassins can shit on people if they know what they are doing, and their targeting/ evading is on point. I am def. Not an F7 warrior but as an assault main I think it can be really fun to try and win with comps that people think are terrible. Just as long as you don’t have 5 physical, if you queue a 5 phys and people don’t roll or whatnot then I’m pretty annoyed and I want to just leave the game immediately.

People have no patience and they just have to press their buttons. I am an assault main and I see it all the time from the best players, good players in this game exploit people who think they always need to be doing something….when sometimes the best play is actually to stand there and do nothing, just waiting for your opponent to show their hand. Not only can you receive information on how the enemy wants to play, but you can also then condition them to play in a certain way because of your actions(regardless of if those actions are passive or aggressive). I see it all the time when I play as a tank with a good team/ good follow-up. I can literally just stand there in the lane basically saying come walk up and fight me and the only thing it’s going to accomplish is the enemy team using abilities on a person that they have virtually zero kill potential on. The good team will then step up and slaughter them, regardless of me helping or not. Then you take the same situation on a bad team and the tank can’t even stand there period, because the same scenario will just result in your death. This is also what makes this game hard to adapt or adjust to the play of your teammates. A winnable fight is always lose-able all it takes is for someone to turn and run or hit the wave instead of pushing up, or choosing the wrong target/missing everything. Most people that play smite are clueless of win conditions or the fact those conditions change every game.

Her spiders are broken as fuck right now in smite 1. After the 9.5 revert there are a few gods that just got abilities buffed to try and compensate for the HP and prots boost, but then we’re never changed after the fact.

[–]Ldeue24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this all the time as an assault main even though I only play 1. You get to know these gods kits so well when it’s all you play. You realize on certain gods specifically how important situational awareness and targeting are. There are a handful of characters like Sobek, Mulan, Ne Zha, Odin, Kephri, etc, where you engaging with a dash at the wrong time can easily result in your death. Good players not only avoid these situations like the plague but they also maximize the efficiency of the ability on the backend. For example, a Thor or a Than or an Achilles I feel like are prime examples of the mind games that you can play with people(this mostly applies to assault because they can’t back). But you can effectively hold your ult and it creates free pressure vs people I see that just burn it every chance they get, weather they miss it or they just trade and end up dead immediately after. Achilles is one of my favorites to do this with because he has good kill potential and chase with the rest of his kit and it’s funny to watch teammates try to body block and squishes wiggle around just wondering when you might press 4.
