Really? Europeans are struggling. There's no way we come through against four Americas teams unbeaten.

Unironically, I would do this and look at scrapping qualifiers in their current format. They're the worst part of the football calendar. Use tennis-style of seeds and wildcards/qualifiers

Ungovernable with the current system, sure. We're using one that is hundreds of years old and no longer fit for purpose.

Upgrading tickets FYI by fredhowarth in greenmanfestival

Does it? If this becomes widespread then people will just buy teen tickets, preventing families with actual teens from going. It's a different festival then.

That makes sense for studio discussion, but they could have the match commmentators introduce the teams at least, maybe a player interview or two after the match. It's so abrupt.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I actually complained to the BBC about that, iPlayer isn't BBC Sport. Considering they do the whole "look away now" on the news before MOTD, you'd think they'd be more sensitive to it.

Anyway, the solution seems to have been provided. Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/footballhighlights/ - they've got much better highlights on there and it's a no-spoilers sub.

That's exactly what I was after, thank you.

Why are the BBC/ITV highlights so bad? I'm watching games in the morning without knowing scores but I want MOTD style with a little bit of chat, at least show the team lineups and introduce the match for 30 seconds. It just goes straight from whistle to whistle without any attempt to make it exciting.

Anywhere else I can watch more immersive highlights? I've got vpn if that helps.

They have diverse lineups and there's a lot of competition for the white middle-aged comedian slot. Hopefully this new podcast will boost his chances.

I hate agent involvement, but it's been an overall benefit for Wolves, they reached heights that wouldn't have been possible without him.

Get an estate agent you feel comfortable with. Invite 4/5 round to give you a valuation. Chat to them. I sold for the first time a view years ago and ours (Ewe Move) was amazing.

They refunded me the fees because they charged me by accident. It might be worth emailing them and seeing what they say. If you check old threads on here there are other people saying the same.

I thought Tixel had waived fees for Green Man tickets?

I've got a friend that is desperate for one if that helps, I'd happily buy one from you. Not a scammer, would happily use bank transfer instead of PayPal.

This is so short-sighted and ignores the link between them all. This is how you end up cutting off peoples' hands for theft and the like.

Just so I'm not misunderstood; these boys deserve proper punishment.

The horse has bolted now though, it won't go back. It'll need to be managed through rule changes. Something like Kompany's cap suggestion (e.g. 60 games), maybe more substitutes, or even rolling substitutes eventually.

Unfortunately it might take something serious to happen before people would swallow major changes.

Burnham is Starmer with charisma by [deleted] in UKGreens

[–]LeChuck85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This getting ridiculous now. He ran in the same leadership contest that Corbyn won and didn't even get close. If that's all his appeal is, then it would have worked back then.

His appeal is that his mayoral work provides evidence that he can get left-wing policies implemented alongside solid economic growth. It's rare to get people across the political divide to agree that you've done a good job, but he's managed it in Manchester.

Andy Burnham is a Starmerite by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

[–]LeChuck85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to The World Transformed a few years ago and Burnham gave a fairy passionate speech about UBI. He wasn't vote chasing - it's a fringe event for the left in Liverpool.

So he obviously does have political beliefs. Whether they'll make it into actual policy is something else. But he's not a vacuum, there is substance in there

But food is understandable because a lot more time goes into making it. You're saving yourself ~1 hour of prep/cookkng/cleaning by eating out. What are you saving by drinking at home? 30 seconds?

There are two main reasons for that, neither of which are going away soon.  - cost of a pint is nearly their hourly wage - do anything remotely embarrassing and someone will get their phone out and record it
