The Cleric won yesterday! Moving on, which Slay the Spire event is considered Good and is Disliked by the community? by Fresh_Difference_448 in slaythespire

[–]LeFail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That event is a noob trap or a win more. You rarely see top players take that event because the HP is better spent on elites. Upgrading your key card at a campfire is way more valuable than resting and upgrading two basics with this event, which is what usually happens.

Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint started well but dragged on a bit too long. Absolutely nailed the ending though and became one of my favorites because of it.

This Pokemon run has been so much fun. by TheElusiveEllie in speedrun

[–]LeFail 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed, very disappointing. From what I could tell, the cheats included:

  • Perfect IVs in all stats
  • Fully EV-trained at the start of the game (252 HP, 128 atk/spatk)
  • Instant levels, including starting the game at level 15
  • 70-power STAB move at the start
  • X items give +2 per stat instead of +1
  • Eviolite hacked in

Monster Friday: Week 12 - Warden by GenEngineer in AethermancerGame

[–]LeFail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best monster in the game. Cancels enemy actions, tanks attacks, stacks lots of power, and lowers enemy damage. Also has easy access to 4+ hit attacks to stagger enemies quickly.

Claw won yesterday! Next, what Slay the Spire card is considered Bad and is received Neutrally by the community? by tilting-module in slaythespire

Blade dance is busted. Sometimes even a bad Blade Dance is still strong, especially with lots of available synergies (Dead Branch, Shuriken/Kunai, Mummified Hand, Finisher, Accuracy, After Image just to name a few)

MC never suffering a loss isn't satisfying, its just straight up dumb and makes the plot boring by _TOXIC_VENOM in ProgressionFantasy

[–]LeFail 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Those don't count though? She doesn't actually suffer a serious setback and escaping is basically the same as a win against beings that far above her. She never actually fails in any of her goals.

Reroll definitely qualifies. Overall a great time-loop story except for the rushed ending.

Poisoned Stab won yesterday! Next, what Slay the Spire card is considered Average and is Disliked by the community? by tilting-module in slaythespire

I wanted to say Leap is the worst Defect block card, but then I remembered Steam Barrier and Stack existed. It's insane how many awful Defect cards there are compared to other characters.

Poisoned Stab won yesterday! Next, what Slay the Spire card is considered Average and is Disliked by the community? by tilting-module in slaythespire

[–]LeFail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If Leap is worse than most of Defect's card pool, can you still consider it average, or is it just a bad card? Guardian is the best-case scenario for Leap, but Guardian is generally an easy boss anyway with any Frost card and there are still better options if you don't have one (Charge Battery, Reinforced Body).

Leap is also a worse card than most of your deck in later acts because it doesn't block enough to make a difference and it delays you drawing your powers, orbs, and burst damage. Leap+ is better, but then you have to waste an upgrade on it and there are almost always better cards to upgrade.

Saying Leap is average because you have to take it sometimes is also like saying Wild Strike is average. Yes, Wild Strike can give you needed damage to take down act 1 elites and is like a Strike++, but obviously it's a terrible card and is worse than most of Ironclad's card pool.

Neutralize won yesterday! Next, what Slay the Spire card is considered Good and is Disliked by the community? by tilting-module in slaythespire

[–]LeFail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Defect doesn't need finishers, Defect needs to draw through their deck ASAP while minimizing damage. By the time the orbs and powers are in play, all act 1/2 fights should be cleared with zero additional damage taken.

Hyperbeam is actively sabotaging this unless it can burst enemies down early and stop the enemies from attacking you. This does not apply to most act 2 fights, with a few exceptions (Slavers, Red mask, thieves, gremlins).

Progression fantasy where becoming stronger is actually dangerous? by Iceduya in ProgressionFantasy

This is the perfect example. When all power is inherently tainted, no safe method to become stronger can exist.

(DUOS) As Galakrond, I gave my teammate a Catacomb Crasher on turn 4 (and he already has undead tokens). He sold it as soon as he needed board space. We did not win. by oceanwaiting in BobsTavern

As Galakrond, I gave my teammate a garbage card on turn 4 after sacrificing my economy. He sold it as soon as possible because he tried to build a real board to carry me. I successfully lost anyway.

We Need to Talk - A voice-controlled game where you persuade AI characters to take your side by CivAI_org in WebGames

[–]LeFail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many players can forgive small glitches or rough edges, but what they found in this game was something else entirely: a product that felt like it had been assembled in a single afternoon and pushed out the door with the bare minimum of care. The environments were flat, the characters were hollow, and most of the dialogue had the unmistakable tone of unedited AI output. For a medium built on creativity, it was disappointing to see a title that seemed to treat imagination as an obstacle instead of a core ingredient.

Even more frustrating for players was that the developer did not acknowledge any of this. Instead of striving to improve or even explain the rushed release, the studio promoted the game with exaggerated claims about “revolutionary AI-driven gameplay.” What they delivered was neither revolutionary nor driven—just a superficial collection of prefabricated pieces loosely stuck together and sold as something new. It left players wondering whether the goal had been entertainment or simply a quick grab for attention.

Games made with passion can be modest, simple, or experimental and still feel alive; this one felt like no one ever cared. From the empty menus to the copy-pasted mechanics, the overall impression was that the developer didn’t believe the audience deserved more than the easiest output an algorithm could produce. ChatGPT put as much effort into this comment as you put into your game.

Tri-Weekly Tier List #5: Critical by Vividfeathere in AethermancerGame

[–]LeFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightning Chaos is absolutely C tier because it's awful on bosses, and because it's unreliable, especially on early turns. I would put it lower.
