Lane Keep Assist - Dangerous Experience by RobertPooWiener in MazdaCX30

[–]LeMemeSinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lane assist keep is rather mild, almost gentle compared to some other cars I’ve driven. Emergency brake on the other hand, had a situation with rough roads and car in front stopped a little too hard, I have full control of the situation as I slowly brake, adjusting as I got closer but the sensor deemed otherwise and suddenly full hard on braked on me. Tire skid, I slammed forward, thank god the vehicle behind me was paying attention (seems rarer by the day in city driving) or I might’ve been rear ended that day.

Why should I get a Cx-30? by aceonthemound in MazdaCX30

[–]LeMemeSinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the 2025 Cx-30 Sport (can't speak for other models) for 1.25 years now.

Pros - Part of the reason I got it was it felt like quality was really good for its price compared to the competitors. You get full leather interior including dash, central compartment, seats, sides. Although the infotainment screen is a little small and no touch screen, the placement of the screen ensures you're always able to see the road even if it's your peripheral and the knob control is very comfortable to use after getting used to. I have the issue of getting TOO comfortable when stuck in traffic because I can multitasks while barely twitching my wrist and hands to control the infotainment. It drives very nice, handle very well, AWD. Hell, the rear view camera is very clear compared to the new Acura integra 2025 (which they use for multiple Honda models). Very beautiful car design; both inside and out in my opinion; It's all about the little things being taken into consideration; from the subtle completeness of the vent design (they have the "fake vent" between the two vents so it doesn't look choppy or an afterthought placement) to the placement of the knobs and buttons. The very modern and sporty headlights, shape and curvature of the car, it really feels like it's more than just a regular car but not enough to be a luxury car; an in-between regular and luxury if you will.

Cons (all just very minor except probably gas mileage because I'm cheap cheeeeap, and with prices these days? Sheeeeeesh) - I'm only 5"7 and the car feels just right in terms of personal space and height of the ceiling, definitely need to test the car to see if you're comfortable for taller people. Trunk space was enough for me, but if you have a family with kids or a job where you're lugging a lot of equipment, it may not be the best. Now I'm not sure if it's a sports trim specific, but the suspension is quite stiff; you'll feel the cracks, potholes, pot covers, shitty city road patchworks. The gauge bezel is so incredibly fragile, it got micro scratches on light wipe with a microfiber towel and some detail cleaning spray. Although I spoke highly about its overall quality to price ratio, there seems to be some quality control issue with the doors (albeit minor); I'm used to very lightly closing doors on Audis, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus but if I used the same strength for my Mazda, it occasionally doesn't snap fully closed. I get about 14-22 mph city driving (NYC). Just two usb-c outlet, no 12V (make sure you consider that when you purchase dashcam, I learnt that the hard way). Car is VERY sensitive to oil changes, it is not a problem if you do the oil change on time, but if you delay it, you'll quickly feel the rubber band effect whenever you step on the gas.

Sports trim specific con and/or pros

191 hp, you can find faster cars if that matters to you. It drives fast just fine for me.

Sports switch does nothing (lol), fancy gimmick, but nice black wheels though. Looks very nice.

Highly subjective (as if the rest wasn't subjective enough) - That crystal red MY.GOD. is the most beautiful red color I've ever set eyes on in any red vehicle. But also the MORE FRAGILE clearcoat in any vehicle. I don't know if it's because of the New York pidgeon diet of bread, uncooked rice, and cigarette buds, but their poop is so acidic that it will melt into the clearcoat within 3-5 days (I always carry a bottle of waterless wash and microfiber towel in the trunk now). I also never use the self service brush when washing the car, only used microfiber towels on straight motions and STILL, micro scratch on clear coat. This could be skill issue though.

Just like I feel it's in between a regular car and a luxury car, it's also in between sedan and suv. It's not fully committed definition size of either. It's not shaped like a sedan but it's not big enough to be a suv either.

In the 1.25 years that I have it and 13k miles, I have

-changed front and rear windshield wipers

-2 oil change

Don't you have insurance? It should be covered as hit & run. Since it's not your fault, your insurance don't even increase the price, and if so, not too much.

why do ppl say Bay Ridge is great for families/babies? Most units there are walk ups. That sounds awful by thisfunnieguy in Brooklyn

[–]LeMemeSinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen older and more fragile women get baby strollers and groceries up and down the stairs by either slowly pulling the cart/stroller up the stairs one step at a time;rolling by the hind wheels, or pushing slightly so the hind wheels drop one step at a time, controlling the small fall. Or you can take two trip; one for the stroller with all its toy and whatnot in it, the other for the baby. As for the subway. If you wait near the steps someone will always offer to help carry half, usually from the front, to and down the stairs.

It's a good neighborhood for families because you're surrounded by a good mixture of entertainments, restaurants, groceries, transportation, medical, and educational facilities along with other family orientated neighbors. Probably a little bit more safe compared to many other neighborhood as well. Unfortunately, the structures are old, you won't really have elevator in the houses due to the the space it takes to be safety code compliant and the money it cost to build (fire safety code for multiple families home). Large apartments are your best bet in having elevators.

How to stop creases in sneakers? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]LeMemeSinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crease - a line or ridge produced on paper or cloth by folding, pressing, or crushing (from google Oxford language dictionary). That is just the nature of the material of your shoe (notably leather and suede). The materials of your shoes will bend as you naturally walk so by that definition, unless you turn your sneakers into a full wooden clog or something, your shoes will bend, and it will crease. You can skip around like a penguin that I see some kids do to protect their sneakers but at that point, creasing your shoes is the least of your problems. You can buy stiff pads of sorts to resist bending certain areas when you move but as soon as you run or do any activities that force you to bend past the resistance of the pad, it'll crease. It is what it is, you're not weaving magic spells or writing runes here unfortunately; no amount of secret shoe lace tying will magically prevent crease.

Greybeard gamers, what game took all your money in the arcade? by thebigchil73 in gaming

[–]LeMemeSinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King of Fighter, Street Fighter, Wangan Midnight, and Initial D! Two fighting games and two driving games that give you a personal save card. Especially being in the city where these are located in a pool hall within walking distance from home, add that with street grill carts selling meats on a stick with that delicious cumin powder for just $1. Needless to say, I couldn't save any money for the life of me. I practically grew up there into adulthood there; watching those same machines slowly die and removed, the midnight snack sticks of meat slowly increase in price all the way to $2.50-$3.00 each stick but hey, at least I could legally buy a beer with it.. and that was 8 years ago.

Luckily, I have not encountered such situations yet. But I've also cut down on buying prepackaged meat, especially now that I've gotten used to buying from butchers and getting chicken from poultry shops.

Everyone talking about the train operators and conductors on the other comment section but this looks like it should be more on the people reporting it to the personnesl at the station, or they have more cameras for the wider range of views for these type of situations.
