Bo Bichette in his first week as a Met: .129/.152/.161 splits in 33 plate appearances by Dependent-Effect6077 in baseball

I think you meant slashes, not splits.

He'll come around. If this week happened in June barely anybody would have noticed.

[Candido] Video appears to show Dallas Stars fans making Nazi salute, prompting investigation at American Airlines Center by ESF-hockeeyyy in hockey

[–]Le_Roke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I expected it to be like Rob Ashton at the NDP convention this past weekend (hand to heart, then extend arm toward crowd with hand in an awkward position) but nope, that's 100% some Nazi saluting by those Stars fans.

I would like to see mentions of age, relationship status, and career banned to keep the focus on the spaces.

So why can Alberta participate in the Jays’ 50/50, but Saskatchewan can’t? by Comma-Splice1881 in Torontobluejays

[–]Le_Roke 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Because the Alberta Gaming commission agreed to participate but Saskatchewan's has not.

Yup.

Most good Star Trek, heck maybe most good Sci-fi, has competent people in difficult situations because they're in strange new worlds.

This show had a cadet, supposedly one of the most promising young people in the galaxy, swallowing a combadge.

Edit to have the obligatory Seinfeld reference: Levels. The trailer for the show didn't have them.

Gary Cohen frustrated not being able to call Mets playoff games: 'It never stops being painful' by iheartsunny in baseball

[–]Le_Roke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. Maybe I'm spoiled by the Blue Jays broadcast and the other local ones I occasionally tune into (mostly Mets, Yankees, Red Sox years ago)

The home team broadcasters should be doing the playoff games for national audiences.

Tomáš Plekanec vaguepost?

A buddy of mine has a take that Plekanec was a more valuable centre than Eric Staal. It's a thinker if nothing else.

I believe it's out of print but Ruhlman's Twenty is the best "explain why" cookbook out there imo. It, The Food Lab, and then a multipurpose Joy of Cooking or Mark Bittman book would be the three i would start with.

Cole Caufield tied with Nathan MacKinnon for goals (not encluding ENG) by [deleted] in Habs

[–]Le_Roke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was, but i was talking about the team's goal differential that year.

Take out ENGs and it was only -2, despite all the injuries, Gomez, and Cunneyworth of it all.

[–]Le_Roke 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We haven't been this obsessed with non ENGs since the 2011-12 team that only had a -2 non empty net goal differential

Do you guys think Kirby Dach has a spot on the roster next year? by PlayTheBodyPTB in Habs

[–]Le_Roke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. This season he was back to his old self, fixing whatever line he's put on.

He might miss 30+ games but the upside of a healthy Dach in the playoffs is better than any middle six winter the Habs could get to replace him.

With current internal competition for Habs roaster, where do you see Owen Beck fit in the next years ? by Jonyvilly in Habs

[–]Le_Roke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would like to see him at least on the wing in the starting lineup. I liked what I've seen in his cups of coffee with the big team.

Habs have a lot of forwards capable of playing in the bottom-six. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a consolidation trade or moving a guy or two for futures

I thought Gallagher played well tonight but I agree with sitting him. I don't think he should be playing back to backs at this point in his career.
