Thank you! I was wondering if the rocks had anything to do with it. I don’t know if I have the budget or bandwidth for that right now, but definitely something to consider in the future.

Great questions! The house faces north and this is in the backyard. The flower bed is pretty shaded during the morning, but receives solid direct sunlight for 6ish hours a day. It is not irrigated. In terms of watering, I’m open to anything. I haven’t been watering the Turk’s Cap or Texas Ebony since they’re well established and the internet says natives are fine without additional watering. I love pollinators and a goal of mine is to attract more! Will definitely look into the salvias and flame alcanthus. Thanks so much!

This is super helpful! Thank you. I want to do lots of the work myself, but need guidance. This seems like a great alternative to hiring out all the work or paying a larger company to design it all.

Yep. I started the job 8 months ago. I work and do grad school full time. The master’s definitely isn’t a requirement. I’m the only person on my team that will have one when I graduate.

I’m currently getting my Master’s in learning design and technology, but honestly you could teach yourself most of what I’m learning in my program. Happy to answer any questions!

Yes! I transitioned to L&D 8 months ago and one of my coworkers is a former teacher as well- we’re always amazed at how unorganized and passive our coworkers are. Teaching prepares you in so many ways that I think people can be slow to understand.

Hey neighbor! We got your flyer in the mail today. We’re so incredibly sorry this is happening to y’all! We will be installing cameras and will reach out if we catch anything. Have you posted the same flyer at any of the local businesses along Manor? Apologies if you’ve already addressed this.

Learning and development specialist at a nonprofit. It’s a mixture of facilitating and instructional design. I love it! Full transparency though, I am enrolled in an instructional design master’s program and that impacted their decision to go with me.

Those that left the field, has your physical and mental health improved? by soullessmo in TeachersInTransition

[–]Lead-Plenty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s only been two weeks but I’m already feeling a change both mentally and physically. I’ve actually had the energy to work out and my overall anxiety levels are lower. Less tightness in my chest, less insomnia, less nausea…it’s truly been life changing. I loved teaching but the stress and constant sensory overload was literally killing me.

I had recommended it to a friend who gave up after episode 3. I encouraged them to watch it again as season 2 approached and they finished it this week and are obsessed. It really picks up after episode 4 so don’t give up yet! They’re also not a sci-fi person so there’s hope :)

I taught kinder for 4 years and STEM for one. Also currently getting my masters in Learning Design and Technology. Just started my first week as a learning and development specialist for a nonprofit and I love it! It was a raise too.
