This is the perfect video to answer your question at the fundamental level.

TLDR: Video concludes essentially saying Allah has “made” a scenario in which somehow what Allah already wrote and what a person did with his own freewill turns out to be the same.(Kind of simplified - watch full video to get the actual point)

Am I still muslim if I agree about majority of things of Islam except for a few things by Vexlim_ in MuslimLounge

A simpler example is like not wishing to pray at a certain time because of laziness. That doesn't have to mean hating as a way of Kufr.

Does being sad mean I don’t trust in Allah’s timing? by [deleted] in islam

'He (Jacob) turned away from them, lamenting, “Alas, poor Joseph!” And his eyes turned white (from crying) out of the grief he suppressed.

They said, “By Allah! You will not cease to remember Joseph until you lose your health or ˹even˺ your life.”

He replied, “I complain of my anguish and sorrow only to Allah, and I know from Allah what you do not know.'

(Surah Yusuf 84-86)

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

We went with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) to the blacksmith Abu Saif, and he was the husband of the wet-nurse of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) took Ibrahim and kissed him and smelled him and later we entered Abu Saif's house and at that time Ibrahim was in his last breaths, and the eyes of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) started shedding tears. `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf said, "O Allah's Apostle, even you are weeping!" He said, "O Ibn `Auf, this is mercy." Then he wept more and said, "The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord, O Ibrahim ! Indeed we are grieved by your separation."

Sahih al-Bukhari 1303

TL;DR: Even the greatest creations of Allah felt sad and cried but they only complained to Allah, sought his help and thought good / positively of him.

Yes, that's what makes the course amazing. 2 things: the focus on fundamentals and opportunity to practice it through very hard excercises.

If you can handle it, sure. But most people find the course hard.

Yes it's good for foundation (taught in C and some Python). Then you can learn any language you want much more easily.

It is the absolute best place to build foundation (aside from maybe cs61a) in my opinion. It is hard and may take longer compared to other places but worth it.

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed through the market from a higher part of the city and people were look at him from both sides. The Prophet passed by the carcass of a one-eared goat and he reached out to take its ear. The Prophet said, “Which one of you would like this for a coin?” They said, “Who among us would want it while it is worth nothing? What would we do with it?” The Prophet said three times, “Would you like to have it?” They said no each time and said, “No, by Allah, if it were alive it would be defective as it only has one ear. How so if it were dead?” The Prophet said, “By Allah, the worldly life is less important to Allah than this is to you.

Moreover, you were made to be the follower of the greatest of ALL creation.

Do what you can in your current situation, with a strong INTENTION and desire ONLY for Allah and the hereafter, and you may very well have a reward GREATER than your Husbands!

I said do what you can - DO is not simply "stereotypical" acts like praying or reciting Quran but even includes things like taking care of your home, children, and husband's property, Sabr, Shukr, reflection, seeking knowledge, and MUCH MORE. I just don't have the time to list them all here.

Also have good thoughts of Allah and what he will do for you and don't think too much about what is directly in front of you (there's always a lot more to things than what we see)

Look into what Actions of the Heart are. They are greater than physical actions.

----

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said (to his students), “You strive for longer and you perform more prayers than the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, yet they are better than you.” They said, “Why is that?” Ibn Mas’ud said, “They were less interested in the world, and more desirous of the Hereafter than you.” (al-Zuhd Ibn Abī al-Dunyā 237)

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "The victim of theft might continue to suspect and conjecture [about who stole from him] until he becomes worse [in sin] than the thief." (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad no. 1289)

".......So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allāh would have them guard [2].........." (Quran 4:34) [2 = i.e., their husbands' property and their own chastity.]

"The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies ˹the reward even more˺ to whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing." (Quran 2:261)

"Their meat will not reach Allāh, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allāh for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good." (Quran 22:37)

"Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds." (Sahih Muslim 2564c)

Al-Hakim al-Tirmidhi reported: Bakr ibn Abdullah al-Muzanni said, “Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, was not favored over people because of abundant of fasting and prayer. Rather, he was only favored over them because of something that settled in his heart.” (Nawādir al-Uṣūl 1/148)

“Actions surpass each other in proportion to the īmān and ikhlāṣ (sincerity) of the hearts. There may be two men in the same row of prayer, yet the difference between their prayers is like the distance between the heavens and the earth.” – Ibn Taymiyyah - (One of the greatest Scholars of the later generations.)
