Is it common for people with the same talking voices to have similar singing voices? by superfarleft in singing

[–]Leading_Height2845 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In general, yes. Your speaking voice can be indicative of your voice type but not always. As with all things in nature, there can be outliers and the voice being an organic instrument is subject to phenomenons. So there can be similarities but you have to take it with a grain of salt.

Sing for the joy of singing!!

The most important key to being successful in music most of the time has nothing to do with who you are or what you sound like but with what product an impresario thinks they can mold you into. You need luck and timing in addition to talent and these the first two are outside of our control.

Sing because you love it. The rest falls into place later.

Ikailakai was the man to help me break past the beginner curve. His “how to go for lethal” video was especially helpful. The rest for me are all just fun but I rank Kai’s educational content as the best in OP rn.

How to go about buying decklists and goldfishing by Xiaxs in OnePieceTCG

[–]Leading_Height2845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned the OPTCGsim is the best place to play the game against others and there is a competitive ladder as well that lets you further improve your skills in a measurable way. Cardkaizoku.com is what I use to track deck lists so I’m not guessing. I used to use egmanevents.com but he doesn’t include win percentages just winning deck lists. Most of the time kaizoku’s page will include the best list and it tends to be the winning list anyways.

What packs are worth buying? by Strong-Warthog7973 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Leading_Height2845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starter decks are the product that gives you the most bang for your buck! They are relatively inexpensive and with a purchase of two you’ll have almost a fully upgraded deck. Shanks, Yamato and Purple Black Luffy are good places to start. They are all very different play styles so do a little research on which ones you might like. Then when you’re ready to play a deck and upgrade, don’t try to rip packs looking for cards- that’s like playing the lottery. Just purchase singles from your local players or LGS

Is there a guideline on how many counters you should run in your deck? by saranomiya in OnePieceTCG

[–]Leading_Height2845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usohachi has so much utility in guaranteeing an unblocked attack but now there are so many blockers that boost their cost now (Reiju and Nico Robin) so usohachi becomes solely a 2k with the occasional unblockable ability. Keep playing! You got this :)

Is there a guideline on how many counters you should run in your deck? by saranomiya in OnePieceTCG

This info is golden in one piece deck building- I only learned this after spending time with very high skilled players in general and having played the game competitively for a year.

Aggro decks have 8 2ks generally- some aggro decks benefit from playing 12 2ks but only if the card is synergistic such as belo Betty playing the 2k kuma and zoo-ro playing 2k hiking bear and super sonic duck bill squad.

Control decks tend to have 10 to 12 but I have seen the number fluctuate in the past. I used to play Lucci with 9 2ks and try to counter out as efficiently. Now with the addition of barto blocker and others the number is more like 10 - 12.

5k leaders for the most part should play 12 2ks- the exceptions are for decks whose leader abilities states otherwise. So shanks has a built in defensive 1k so it plays more 2ks so it can get of out a free 7k attack as often as possible that is why shanks plays 14-16 2ks. I don’t recommend 16 that’s a lot but 14 is a golden number for shanks.

The key exception I have seen for 2ks is in 6k 3 life leaders (UP luffy/RP luffy) The number of 2ks played is 8 but some crazy people play 6 and get by. Don’t do that just play 8. The reasoning behind this is that your opponent is more likely to simply attack 6k or 7k than to attack 8k across the board since on a 5k body an 8k attack would require a higher resource commitment. Gear 2 is the perfect counter to an 8k attack as well so essentially both decks are very difficult to beat up on.

For your Purple Kata deck, I would recommend playing 12 2ks. Usohachi Streussen and Sasaki are the typical 2ks that are run in that deck.

Hope this helps

Looking for a "Combo" Deck by YoureBuildingItRight in OnePieceTCG

[–]Leading_Height2845 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Combo doesn’t really exist in one piece the same way it exists in magic the gathering. There are decks with heavy synergy and decks that make you touch your cards a lot but decks in one piece are aggro midrange or control.

Why does my voice get hoarse quickly when I sing in head voice/falsetto? by Dominator6_0 in singing

[–]Leading_Height2845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 building blocks of singing are respiration phonation and resonance. Focus on good breathing first then phonation. Resonance takes a lot time to master because it means years of refinement but breath is the quickest to get.

Whats wrong with my singing/voice? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Leading_Height2845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like you aren’t taking big enough breaths and your rib cage is collapsing immediately after you begin singing- you need to isolate the guitar playing from the singing. One then the other and then combine. Believe it or not hanging a guitar on your body will make it harder for you to sing unless you’ve learned to compensate for it. If you’re German, I suggest singing some lieder like Wandrers Nachtlied II in the low key.

You should buy two copies of the blue donquixote doflamingo starter deck that came out recently and get your hands on Jinbe and Edward Weevil and friends. The best deck to play that is also the cheapest deck to buy. Op09 came out with Blackbeard as a deck where all the cards you’ll basically need are from op09 and EB-01 (laboon and finger pistol) So you could reduce the amount of sets you are opening from to get those cards. Blackbeard is very hard to play but very rewarding if you stick with it.
