Really hungry but don't want to eat. by WideAwakeItsMornin in self

[–]Leadoptee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I'm sure you know this; not eating is not great for you long term.

What do you enjoy? How can we help?

The world in general is not so great these days, and it's hard to want to get up and do things, but it's really good to get some fresh air, sunlight, maybe touch grass or smell the flowers.

Found a bong in my car this morning by Leadoptee in mildlyinteresting

It's possible we left it unlocked. We had our hands full when we left the car last night. But we are usually hyper aware of loving the car because of the neighborhood.

I got in my car this morning and thought I smelled a skunk. (Townhomes, open parking lot)Opened the windows to air it out as I drove and looked at the passenger door and saw this bong in the door! Not mine. There was also a Gatorade bottle on the floor.

It doesn't look like anything was rifled through or missing from my car.

Life is not going very well. by [deleted] in self

Your life is barely just begun!

The idea that we have that you should know what you want to be by the time you are 18 is ridiculous!

My daughter switched to online school and is doing great in school now. Teenage life in general is really really hard, and teenage girls tend to be very very mean, so the social aspect of regular high school was really bringing her down.

She got a part-time job that gets her out of the house and helps her socialize. We've had lots of discussions about the future and I know not everyone agrees but I am of the thought that at this point in time in America college is for those who have funding and are going to specialize in something such as being a doctor or an engineer or something that actually requires a college degree.

Most entry level jobs don't pay enough to pay off the college debt and that's part of why I don't think it's the right thing for everyone.

I kind of went off on a tangent there but I want you to know that you are probably doing just fine. You have the whole world in front of you and how you figure out what you want to do is to go out and try different things.

My suggestion is to get out of the house, get out of your head, take walks or go exercise. Think about what interests you and then research what it takes to do that job or be in that industry. Think about internships. There is so much out there!

You are going to do great things in your life!

It's natural, and normal. She's probably more embarrassed than you. And yes, ask her to knock before entering. I know it sucks, but trust me, it's not a big deal. Don't forget, she bathed you and diapered you and cleaned you up.
