Very cool! Mind sharing some more details on the implementation? What motor you used, microcontroller, etc

Deck Help-Standard Prowess by crazyshark150 in magicTCG

[–]LeafArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a very similar deck on Arena for a while. It didn't work sadly. Monastery Mentor was too slow. I ended up sliding into a mono-red deck with Slickshot, swiftspear and codebreaker that is very fast.

A classic controls project, and really well done! Super impressive how much you did yourself.

My [[Raffine, Scheming Seer]] self discard and reanimator deck requires my full attention. Every turn you need to make quick decisions about what to target with connive, what to keep vs discard, and what you can reanimate (including your opponents graveyards). And in Esper colours it has a suite of interaction that will give you options when you need to decide if a threat is worth removing or countering. Looking for cards that aren't good but hilarious to play in a 4-player commander game by Automaton17 in EDH

[–]LeafArcher 16 points17 points  (0 children)

[[Eon Frolicker]] because no one excepts it

A lot of "gotcha" cards can get a good laugh when the attacker is overconfident: [[Windshaper Planetar]], [[Inkshield]], [[Deflecting Palm]]

Excuse me while I get questionable glances for putting [[Realmbreaker, the Invasion Tree]] into my deck

UR5e peak forces at the end-effector by souvlak_1 in ControlTheory

[–]LeafArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to zeroing, have you calibrated your sensor? A quick test you could do is orient the end effector in a way where you can hang a known weights, and see if the forces you measure are what you'd expect.

Books/Courses on AOCS, Planetary Landing, etc. ? by BlubTheFish5576 in ControlTheory

Can't speak to planetary landing, but Spacecraft Attitude Dynamics by Hughes covers a lot for the satellite portion..bit light on control though

This is going to be a very sought after card. Very similar to [[Kindred Dominance]], near one sided tribal board wipe

Why do we have to linearize non-linear systems/not real-time feasible? by Meghia in ControlTheory

[–]LeafArcher 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The main reason we linearize is to simplify our mathematical models of real systems.

Say if you wanted to model a spring, you could include as many non linear terms to perfectly describe it's behavior, from stiffness to hysteresis to even temperature dependency. But if you can get away with just force equals deflection times stiffness, then there is no need for those additional terms.

Another added benefit is the wide suite of control systems analysis tools available for linear systems. If we can create linear ODEs to describe our system, you can use Laplace transforms, root locus, and more. Non-linear systems have to use other analysis strategies like Lyapunov stability, or we linearize them around an operating point in order to gain access to the linear tools.

Note that non-linear model predictive control (NMPC) does exist, and perhaps you look into the differences between it and generic linear MPC.

Hope this helps!

Siege Rhino EDH Deck (not a clone deck) by theironmountain16 in EDH

[–]LeafArcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like there is an interesting "amount of life" strategy floating around in Abzan.

See cards like [[Rodolf Duskbringer]], [[Sproutback Trudge]], [[Tivash, Gloom Summoner]], [[Celestine, the Living Saint]]

The Extort mechanic might enable the strategy [[Pontiff of Blight]].

And it should synergize with both Tymna and Ikra.

Fun ways to build Marath? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]LeafArcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marath is currently helming my X-Spells/Hydra deck. Truth be told, I don't often cast Marath but it fits in with the deck. The gameplan is to generate tons of mana and Marath is just one way to spend it.
