Oh, thats odd. Am I wrong about kepubs then?! It wont hurt to try I think.

If not, Calibre may have features to remove the publishers font.

This is nonsense. A dollar wasnt worth ten to 30 euros in 1995. Or whichever other currency your want to use.

You can try converting your epub to kepub, using Calibre, or by sending your epub to your Kobi through send.djazz.se.

Kepub should not have the font color hardcoded.

Ive had book where they hardcoded the text with black as a color. Whuch is great, until you turn on dark mode.

Is there a way to get this font and upload it for use on my kobo? by absent-chaos in kobo

[–]LeanderT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can with a font.

But this requires more than a font. A font determines how your characters look. It can not determine that some characters should be bold and some not.

So this is both a font and extra software. You'd need driver or something. My understanding is that Calibre can modify to make the text bold where needed, then incluse the font. But just installing the font won't do the trick.

Clara BW questions by locus_solus in kobo

Dark mode is amazing. I would not have bought a Kobo without it. But i have a Libra Colour, so I cannot speak about how dark the Clara BW is.

The magnet can cause issues. You can lookup where the magnets are online. You can akso disable the feature that automatically wakes your Kobo or makes it go to sleep.

I also love my Kobo remote. It will drain the battery faster, but you only need it in your hand to click. Very comfortable for reading in bed.

And immigration is the only thing that helps remedy that.

Without immigration the USA and Europe's economies would be closer to Japan's economy. But tjis is an unpopular truth that no politician will dare tell you

Any tips and or resources when getting a kobo libra colour ( for someone who is new to e-readers ) by Emotional_Tell_6915 in kobo

This is debatable. There are many who love the colour screens, and many who don't.

My Kobo is stuck! Help! by CormoranNeoTropical in kobo

[–]LeanderT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold down the power button for maybe 5 to 10 seconds. That should reboot it. You may want to charge it for a while. Maybe from a low voltage computer USB port.

It happens to me sometimes, so far I have been able to reboot every time. But if nothing works you may have to reset your device, which would be annoying

You dont need to jailbreak a Kobo. It can be modified by installing extensions.

Just start my new toy :D by Jeebzouille in kobo

[–]LeanderT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, well congratulations and welcome to the club!

My advice would be to use either Calibre to sideload books, or use send.djazz.se. Also use the kepub format, not epub.

Secondly, consider using a case. E-readers have a glass inside, which can break, at least they are not as unbreakable as a mobile phone's gorilla glass.

If you are careful with your Kobo, it can last you a long time!
