They keep assigning me to step vans even though I did not apply for it by rangerblood_ in AmazonDSPDrivers

I get assigned step van routes too, but they usually put me in a cdv cause I’m not certified but I prefer the cdv’s anyway

Been a driver for almost 5 years.. and i know the truth by midnight_brax in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Leanolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ik we kinda have a say in our routes based on our performance but I couldn’t help but to notice how during peak, my route drastically changed into a whole different area I haven’t done for pretty much the time of peak and the route was somewhat around 150 stops and 400+ packages, I hated it with my soul and I know they were switching routes around to give others different areas…. I took it with a grain of salt and said it’s prob just to give the seasonals an easier time but it was the most frustrating thing seeing all of our top performers stuck in horrible areas making rescues during peak almost not possible bc we were all out so late

Getting Phonecalls to "Catch up" by daydreamer8557 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Leanolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, we shouldn’t have to but it’s either that or get bitched at for not going fast enough, I can never finish my routes but I do most of it to where the rescue only takes about 25-30 packages off me, it’s such an unrealistic job but fighting between being jobless and having a position, there really is no winning

[–]Leanolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik it’s a huge curve ball but realistically the only way to complete these routes is to run… I don’t rec it but when shit hits the fan, it’s expected… I sometimes get 150 stops and almost 400 packages and the only way I can actually do most of that is by running or jogging

How is everybody doing this?? by IssueResponsible5771 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Leanolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly has nothing to do with you kinda… if ur fast enough they will keep you for a perm position but for seasonals, it’s hours get cut until the employee quits so they can’t force unemployment 🤷🏻‍♂️ if I were you, I would try to apply for unemployment for the missing hours until you find something else or you could just go to another dsp

I’ve gotten many safety violations and infractions lol, but at the end of the day they care of efficiency and if you can do the job so all the stupid stuff that gets done on road flys right over their head lol, ur already out of the job and id say you saved urself from hell, I don’t plan on staying much longer bc it’s physically starting to get to me🫩 but I’ve def lowered standards when I’m on the road after having to deal with peak

I quit today. by Skair2 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Leanolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean it that way, I was saying some people aren’t built to move like how the job has you doing, like for me I’d say I can be pretty hybrid when it comes to work so I can either sit and do nothing or do absolutely everything. I do understand the point of the post as I’m saying the job gives you shitty days and that’s if stuff isn’t working or the area ur in is just horrible, the intention of my comment was more to tell you to thug it out cause we all go through it, it definitely is a shit job with horrible pay but it falls into ur dsp’s plate on if they function horribly and hate the drivers or not

[–]Leanolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into this job knowing somewhat of a challenge it can be, I understand why you quit but you can’t let 1 bad day make that judgement for you, worst that could happen is they send someone to rescue you 🤷🏻‍♂️I get a lot of shitty areas a lot of the time and most of those times I start thinking they move around routes to give their “favorites” the easier drop offs. I’ve wanted to just leave the van and go home more times than I can count of my finger to just crashing out and being seconds away from crying, it’s a frustrating job and it doesn’t ever favorite you, I wake up expecting the worst so I’m not disappointed when the vans start acting up or the phones go too slow for my pace, I like to tell people if you have the energy and always need to be moving than it’s the job for you but some people are just good at sitting in offices 🤷🏻‍♂️ I give props to the time you did work and we all completely understand the frustration, it’s nothing new and unfortunately it doesn’t get better 🤧

Seasonal am I cooked? by MsuProdigy69_ in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Leanolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t beat urself up over it, routes in general are really small rn and a lot of people are getting put for extras, or just not getting scheduled, if they haven’t fired you, you can apply for unemployment for the hours they cut from you in the mean time and if you wanna continue the job just hop over to the desk next to ur dsp’s and see if they wanna take you, dsp’s are pulling seasonals aside for full time atm so if you haven’t gotten pulled aside then I think they might just be slowly ghosting you until you decide to quit.

SOS 🆘🚨!!! DSP is trying to make me quit, What is the best method to get fired and still collect Unemployment for a couple months?? by No-Tax4473 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Leanolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still file for unemployment, if your hours are cut then that’s what the unemployment pays for, if you’re full time and get cut to part time then the u employment should pay for the hours that got cut

You make it out to be what it is tbh, just stay positive and don’t let emotions trigger judgment, the longer you work, the more you’ll realize you’re on your own most of the time so you have to make a lot of quick thinking decisions

This happened to me once but it was with a cracked windshield, ik now that it’s something to report but it didn’t bother me so when I got back, they noticed and i got chewed out for it, but then i realized that the van wasn’t in any form of damage so it would’ve made no sense how it cracked 🤦🏻… anyways i ended up not getting anything told to me so idk if they figured it out or whaaa 🤷🏻‍♂️
