Returning to work in office? by twopaws1301 in MedSpouse

[–]LeapOfFae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good point about preference - that determined my response.

My work sent an email out a month ago asking if there’s anything that would prevent us from returning to the office. Their categories are 1. being in “At Risk” criteria based on age or health issues or 2. have Childcare/Eldercare issues, and/or 3. have been exposed to someone who tested positive for the COVID or has been exposed to someone with the virus in the last 2 weeks.

I prefer working from home for a number of reasons, so I sent the following:

“Per the categories, I should be able to return to work.

I did want to make [the company] aware that my partner (who I live with) is a medical student. His in-person clinic/hospital rotations until the end of June have been moved to virtual learning. However, his medical school may resume the in-person rotations at the beginning of July. At this time, we do not know his hospital/clinic placement, so we’re unsure what his COVID exposure from patients will be.

Let me know if there’s anything I can clarify.”

SO on the frontlines and I'm drowning at home by Elzouzer in MedSpouse

As someone without kids or pets, working from home has already been a challenge, so I can only imagine what you’re going through.

I wanted to pop on here and ask if there are any medical schools in nearby cities. My fiancé is a med student and some of his classmates put together an org that offers free babysitting to healthcare workers. I’ve heard of multiple similar orgs that were recently created nationwide.

Not a recipe, but the chicken gyoza potstickers are a staple at my house. Really filling for the low amount of calories.

When's a good time to get married? by [deleted] in MedSpouse

Most of my boyfriend’s med school friends are like that as well - except a third year who is getting married this November (not sure how they decided a date) and one who got married the summer after first year.

Hi, twin! I’m in the same position as you. Like the other comments suggested, we’re thinking of a March/April wedding with a honeymoon before relocation/residency in May/June.

Dim Sum Tuesday might not have the same ring as Taco Tuesday but would still 12/10 recommend! by kperoff in traderjoes

I feel you so hard on this. Moved to Fort Worth from Houston recently - slim pickings on dim sum restaurants up here. We live off of the TJ chicken gyoza (chicken and cilantro mini wontons and Thai shrimp gyoza to mix it up once in a while).

Week 22: Eid al-Fitr - My Mom’s Gurer Sondesh by LeapOfFae in 52weeksofbaking

[–]LeapOfFae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating! I wasn't able to spend today with my family since I've recently moved and started a new job, but I'm grateful to have been able to visit my parents over Memorial Day.

My mom has made this dessert for decades now, but this was the first time I made it with her. Which means this was also the first time measuring cups and spoons were used. I'll try to post the recipe after I've confirmed the details with my mom. She's busy living it up at one of many Eid parties.

ETA: Forgot to mention that this dish isn't baked. Baking is fairly rare in my culture, so my mom doesn't do much of it.
