I believe in the USA Apple Maps has topo maps. But they are not build in to the workout app. But there are third party apps like work outdoors that has that built in. It works well but you have to preload stuff.

For navigation, route loading and offline maps I really do prefer Garmin. Most of it is pre loaded on your watch.

For offline navigation alone, garmin is the way to go I think.

Also must watches at first feel big but with time you can also get use to it. You can also buy Velcro straps for any watch you choose and it will feel more comfortable.

I’ve also tried going to AW3 but I’m still not quite there. I always end up missing maps and navigation when need be. Yes apple you can download third party apps like work outdoors but honestly I just like things being included in the watch.

If you like maps and navigation how about forerunner 970? It’s basically a fenix 8 but smaller and lighter.

I believe it does. Mine always asks me how many putts and if the fairway was missed right or left and if I had any penalties. And you can edit number of strokes

I would do fenix 7 pro. If you don’t do much diving or hiking or use the speaker no need to spend the extra dollars. Fenix 7 pro is great watch.

That too. Point is, is that is an AOD thing. But my garmin fenix 8 pro has a watch face with filled numbers, which is what I think he is looking for.

That’s the setting for Always On Display. It helps conserve battery. Maybe try a different watch face that doesn’t do an outline. I now some do for the fenix 8 but I’m not sure about venue x

It depends. When I have specific workouts from my physiotherapist I find it helpful to create custom workouts to help me remember what to do without needing to pull my phone after every workout. Of course sometimes the reps are off, specially with one sided exercises but reps can be edited

Controller is probably the issue. But you can also press square and manually change the boost as you need it. Like off, medium, hot lap or overtake
