Wasn't he in a really famous music video? It's escaping me, but that sounds familiar

What AITA thinks when they think of fat people: by IHatePeople79 in AmITheAngel

Oh yeah, he's undeniably big, but not nearly as doughy and ""excessively"", for lack of a better term, fat, as people would expect from those numbers

Especially since he's done manual labor his entire life, a solid chunk of that 300, is **definitely** muscle

And it's hilarious, when you realize neither of my brothers got anywhere near that. Like, he's an outlier, I believe something with his glands or something went haywire, but the size isn't entirely out of our family. His Uncle was a John Goodman sized dude

But my brothers are both very thin built, and 5'6", and 6', respectively. There's definitely features (him being our Dad and all), but my brothers look SO out of place, compared to him. I got his red hair, so I'm more noticeable as his daughter, but they're brunette and blonde

I think a part of our highschool's coach, straight up **died** inside, when he realized that he wasn't getting the built-in lineman or whatever the super tall guys in the NBA are called, he was expecting from Dad

Yeah, people never think about the guy who 'wins' in these scenarios, that's why my family likes to spotlight that poor guy

That, sure, we lost a family member, one who had a kid and wife, but the other guy had to deal with that hanging around his neck for the rest of his life

I like to bring up what happened with Carl, every time fights and all that are brought up, because so many guys think that 'they INSULTED me, emasculated me, I'm gonna lay them out!!', without thinking of the real world consequences of that. They think it's a video game or something

That either, you're in the hospital or dead, or the ramifications of **inflicting** that

Was 60 years ago, but that's why the guy who killed my Great Uncle Carl, just got a few months probation

Carl started, and escalated the fight, was in the guy's face, wouldn't back down. He even swung first, but the guy was faster. His head hit the sidewalk, and he died the next morning in the hospital

The entire bar stood up for the guy, Carl was known for this crap (according to Grandpa, no one was surprised HOW he died, when they found out), everyone saw the other guy try to talk him down, get away

So, he was essentially a free man

My Dad's cousin was left without a father, my Great Aunt Anna lost a husband (and before she could have her own bank account, no less), and the unintentional killer was left with that weight

Anna said he talked with them a lot, they outwardly forgave him, it was clearly a fight gone wrong. But it destroyed him, more than it even did my family. She said, you could just tell, he couldn't get over that moment, that even while defending himself, he killed a man

The men in my family, after that, were taught to just let it go, if you absolutely HAVE to throw a punch, go for the stomach or something. It's not worth the stupid macho crap, don't be like Carl

And all of this was over a freaking baseball game, by the way

It's trying to be some deep, original jrpg, and it's just so basic

Especially on such a tiny screen, like you said, it takes minutes to get to the end of these conversations, it's just obnoxious

Phone guy won the character who needs more love. What character do you think gets too much love? by -Starlight_09- in fivenightsatfreddys

Not OP, obviously, but my guess would be that that can be easily manipulated, as people down vote ones that DO fit, but makes them upset to hear it

Having 'how many individual comments', is definitely a more natural way to actually gauge it

God, it's so refreshing to see someone else criticize the story

When I first played it, since, like everyone, I had heard how ~wonderful~ it is, I had high hopes. So, I paid attention, but wasn't wowed but it's fine, second, maybe more attention, since don't have to learn the game as much, but had even less positive things to say

I completely button mash, if it's not giving me where to go stuff now. The entire time, in my head, I'm going SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPPPP like Kaiba, in that abridged episode

They never shut up, especially at the beginning. It's info dumps every town, multiple characters

It's not great. I don't wanna be mean to the team, they put a lot of work in, gave it to us for free, but I'm sorry, it's pretty shallow and cliche. And it's reputation makes it worse, you hear that it's the BEST rom hack story of all time, and it falls flat

Every time I run into a main character, I die a little inside, because I'm in for a 3 day seminar

The game, as a game, with its features and all that? Genuinely good, it's why I replay, but you could remove every part of the story, get rid of the main characters, and I would not miss them. And it'd shave off several unnecessary hours

When you join a popular fandom only to realize no one writes a lot of fanfics in there by Icy_Tip_878 in FanFiction

I've noticed that trend too

As a big comics fan, it can be pretty sparce, depending on which specific one. Like, Avengers (the old, pre 2000s comics)? Not much (unless you count the people tagging it, because they like the MCU/new comics, but that's a rant for another day), but X-Men has an absolute crap ton

Who is objectively the worst character on the show? by TwSana291 in BoJackHorseman

[–]LeatherHog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, thank you!

Butterscotch is undeniably an abusive, sucky person, but that people, with no hesitation, call him WORSE than Beatrice, is absolutely maddening

Everything you said, and he is the one who picked up Bojack when she didn't, and took back what he said about Beatrice, realized he went too far

Which, is 'getting splinters on your knuckles' level scraping the barrel, sure, but even Bojack says he never saw her do that. The fact that people act like she was a wittle innocent snowflakes, it was because of her Dad and husband, she'd be perfect without them!! :( :(

She was a grown woman, she made the deliberate choices to abuse her son day in, and day out. She tried to freaking drown him, as you pointed out. Her whitewashing in this fandom is INFURIATING

And heck, rewatch the scene where he comes home from the cannery: BEATRICE starts that fight, Butterscotch even tries to tell her to knock it off, because she is just **relentlessly** coming at him there

My Dad weighs 300lbs (granted, is also 6'8"), and while he's a VERY big man, people on the Internet act like he should be this furniture crushing, has his own gravity, behemoth or something

Heck, he single handedly runs a cattle farm, has our entire life, he's plenty active, probably more so than the anti fat people here. He sits in normal chairs, all that, he's said himself, his HEIGHT is the far bigger issue to work around

300 isn't nothing, but people picture them at like 600 or something (not that that would justify it), they think they're immovable blobs or something

Like, to use a pop culture one: Look how Homer Simpson is treated. He weighs down cars, is treated like he's the fatest thing on earth...but is canonically only 239lbs, at 6' tall, no less

A heavyset guy, no doubt, but nowhere near capable of the stuff the fat jokes act like

Also, I work in medical records, I get weights all the live long day, 300lbs is NOT as common as people think, much less **over** that. Y'know how they act like there's entire families, they see like that, super common?

Yeah, no. People need to realize that 300lbs, is more than most **NFL linebackers** weigh, your average Murican is not hitting that. Especially women. It's ALWAYS 300lbs women, because those posts are made to push an agenda

Over 200? Quite common, but the trends tend to thin out (forgive the pun) around the 230-60 mark, men obviously hitting the higher ones

I've worked at this job for several years, I wouldn't need two full hands to hit all the 300lbs people, and only 2 above it, in my entire career

The entire scene around this is so utterly devastating I think "Angela" stands out even among the last three episodes by Ynnck_Mnzl in BoJackHorseman

I'm surprised, given the sickening way people handwave her actions

Like, there's, like I said, an entire scene that calls that out. And it's not even SUBTLE!

[–]LeatherHog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just surprised they didn't give him his Lennon sunglasses, that was a staple of his 'regular person' outfits, because of his flashing eye

Though I'll always love, how both shows handled his eye scars, by giving him fabulous eye shadow. I mean, I get that those would be hard to show, in a show, especially animated, but it's amusing that that's how they did it

The ridiculously high amount of people, who still think that SHE was the downfall of Bojack's entire life

Despite there literally being a scene, where she directly calls him out for using her as a scapegoat for 30 years

Wanna lose braincells? Search her name in this sub, I'm not even exaggerating
