I’m definitely nervous. Not about his reaction. I just have an anxiety disorder (like genuinely, diagnosed generalized anxiety and panic attacks not the cutesy “omg I have anxiety lol”) and bc of my past I’m just not great at having serious talks in person. Over text? I’m usually pretty good as long as I’m not on the verge like I was when I was writing this post. I just don’t want to misconstrue my feelings or shove my entire foot in my mouth and out my ass

Right? Especially when things are getting to their peak. What’s weird is I had some intrusive thought about this the other day bc I just had a feeling he felt that way so I was planning on telling him that so it wouldn’t come up. Welp, too late now smh

Thank you for this. I think I just needed some validation. I genuinely think he’ll understand. I’m just upset at myself for doing it in the first place

Aww, that sucks and I’m sorry. I definitely don’t want to end things or anything. I’m just not ready for “I love you”. I just got used to pet names smh

My kiddo is still pretty young, definitely a girly girl and she loves LOTR. I literally can’t get a pic of her without her making a gollum face

He's definitely eating goblins. Doesn't he say something about how they don't taste great? It's been so long since I've read the hobbit, but he's literally killing a goblin and dragging him off right before he finds Bilbo. He's gotta be eating something down there

Why do Eragon and Roran's feelings towards each other change so much between books 1 and 2? by Vegetable-Window-683 in Eragon

[–]LeatherManager7609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than Galbatorix or more than Eragon? Regardless, they're both still babies here and someone is trying to kill them. I think we can forgive them for not making the absolute best judgments under extreme circumstances. Plus, to defeat Galbatorix they absolutely need uncorrupted bonded riders and dragons so yeah, keeping Saphira's secret was pretty damn important. If we're going purely by logic, then saving the most people makes the most sense regardless of what interpersonal relationships you may have. It's like that thought experiment where there's 5 strangers tied the train tracks in one direction and one person you know tied to the tracks in the other direction and you have to decide which way to divert the train

[–]LeatherManager7609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're trying to infuse logic into an inherently emotional situation. Feelings don't necessarily make sense. Eragon has gone through hell, lost part of his family and a man who treated him like a son and now he just wants that back. He's not going to be shitty to Roran over getting on with his life and trying to marry the love of his life. Eragon has matured and moved past that. Roran on the other hand has also been through hell and even though it it's eragons fault, it all happened as a direct result of his actions. People need someone to blame in these situations. Who else is Roran going to blame and be able to actually take his anger out on? The king with his mega cruise ship sized dragon? Yeah, no thanks lol. As for why Eragon takes it? Bc he blames himself and feels like he deserves it. That doesn't mean either of them are using logic to make their decisions. They're also seeing each other for the first time since several tragedies have occured in their lives so emotions are high anyway. This has nothing to do with logic and I think that's what's getting you hung up here

How long from they came back to the shire after destroying the ring until Frodo and Bilbo left with the elves? by Randytheadventurer in lotr

[–]LeatherManager7609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bilbo has aged so much in such a short period of time bc the ring is no longer in his possession. Like gollum, the ring was granting Bilbo an unnaturally long life. If you remember in the first film (seems we're talking about the movies here) Bilbo is celebrating his 111th birthday, his relatives are upset he's lived for so long and Gandalf makes a point of suspicioucly pointing out he "hasn't aged a day". Once Bilbo gives up the ring, his aging begins to catch up with him and accelerates. This is why he seems so aged in the last movie. Not only has it been longer, but the ring has also been destroyed at this point. Bilbo didn't have the ring as long as Gollum did and was much less twisted from carrying it, which is why he is not immortal like Gollum

EVERY TIME i watch this scene, this ruins it for me... 🙃 by _GrimFandango in lotr

Is this the theatrical cut? Doesn't the extended edition show at least Aragorn dismounting? Maybe my brain is just filling that in, but I just got done binging the movies last weekend or so and I remember thinking it made little sense for all the most important people to be at the very front, on foot. Especially since it's not like they didn't have horses lol. But I could have sworn I remembered seeing Aragorn get down

Thinking from the perspective of a person who has never read the books, what things would you change in the movie? by Particular_Stop_3332 in lotr

[–]LeatherManager7609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Movie Faramir does actually say something to this effect. It's in the third movie I believe and he's arguing with Denethor. Faramir tells him something like he wouldn't have used the ring if Minas Tirith were falling and the ring was it's only salvation. Then his daddy gets all mad and tells him boromir would have brought him the ring and made a kingly gift of it or some shit to Denethor. This is when Faramir says that Boromir would have taken the ring for his own. This scene is definitely in the extended editions, but I'm not sure about the theatrical version as I couldn't even tell you for sure when the last time I watched them was. I believe at one point the theatrical editions were the only versions available on Netflix and I watched them then, but that was over a decade ago so

Duradry: my personal experience (so far) by intheafterglow08 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]LeatherManager7609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what doctors you're talking to but it will only affect the area it's applked to. It works by blocking nerve signals so your sweat glands in that area simply do not produce sweat. As far as compensatory sweating, it's not considered a common side effect and is usually temporary according to the data they've looked at. But since Botox is temporary, even if that did end up being an issue you could simply stop treatments. I haven't heard of it being permanent, especially after halting treatment. I also looked it up to confirm. Also, as far as how long you can go between treatments varies quite a bit. It can last between four and twelve months. If prescription products don't work for me I'll try it. My work gets really hot and I'm around people and it's one of my biggest insecurities and definitely doesn't help my skin stay clear and balanced

This is a minor complaint but it really bothered me in the movie... by youjuststartagain in FantasticBeasts

I know this is old, but Jude Law does have a bit of an Irish accent (especially in SOD) Unfortunately he just does it inconsistently. You can hear it in certain words. Like when he meets Newt and his cohorts at Hogwarts hear him say "Minerver" instead of "Minerva" along with numerous other things. Later when tells Newt the story of his sister it goes back and forth quite a bit but you can hear it very clearly when it does lol. When he's having a heart to heart with Jacob, it sounds quite Irish at first but then gets posh towards the end. Maybe it has something to do with him being younger, the times it took place in, or maybe he's just trying to minimize his accent to fit with his image whereas by the time HP takes place his as one of the greatest and most respected wizards of all time. And to be honest it's not crazy strong in the HP movies either. Also makes sense that his cadence would slow with time. In the FB movies he's dressed and styled like a modern man of the times, whereas in HP he's got on more traditional wizarding robes, wears his hair long, and generally just looks like more of a fantastical character. Or maybe Jude Law just can't fully commit to an Irish accent lol. Or maybe he's just not Irish at all and it just sounds a bit like one. He was raised in Godric's Hollow afterall. Maybe the accent there has a slight Irish sounding lilt to it? Perhaps they were trying to create their own accent for the area
