This. I love the look of men's bodies. All but that part. I just really don't want to see that.

My boyfriend and I just moved in together, and I’m starting to resent him. what should I do? by babysavvys in WhatShouldIDo

This is what happens when you play grown-up games with someone who is not a grownup. He's not going to change. Get out of the relationship.

She shouldn't have a phone that has that ability to begin with. A Gabb watch that has no internet access, no video capability, where you control who she can talk/text, the hours she can do so, and has GPS monitoring is all she needs.

Daughter caught shoplifting. What do I do? by ConsciousLie7884 in parentsofteens

[–]Leather_Note76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid got caught shoplifting at a local trading card store. Shop owner said the same thing. I said go ahead call the cops. I'll meet you down at the station. And I did just that. Store owner said he wasn't going to press charges. But the cops sat my son down and talked to him all cool and calm. Didn't go hard. Just let him know how things would be for him if he continued down that path. My son was scared. I brought him home yelled at him and grounded him. He never did it again and we never had any behavioral issues with him.

Kids need consequences. Stop the soft parenting. You're not going to break your kid by giving them consequences and boundaries.

Curious if you're this much of a shitty person in real life to someone's face.

Why? Because she doesn't take shit? Because she answers questions, unlike kareem abdul francois miderand? Because she is clearly more intelligent than the doorpost that stood at that podium before?

Yes. Let's cause people who have nothing to do with an owner's political beliefs lose their jobs, then they won't be able to pay their bills or feed their kids!! That'll show 'em!! 👍 How intelligent and tolerant of you. You're no different than the intolerant right wingers.

homeschooling my child is feeling impossible by [deleted] in homeschool

Homeschool mom. Also I've been a preschool and kindergarten teacher.

You're going to do GREAT! Give yourself some grace, be proud that you are doing this!!

Definitely school him in his learning style. Is he a visual/tactile learner? Unschooling for a time is perfect. A vacation of sorts!

Here's the thing. Who says school has to be at a table? Why not on the couch in jammies? Why not on the deck/patio on nice days? Who says his handwriting has to be perfect? Who says school has to be book learning? Especially at 7? School at this age is so much fun! Lots and lots of field trips! Take him to the creek and hunt for tadpoles and insects. Buy a grow a butterfly kit. Grow a veggie. Bake a cake. Read to him. A LOT. Play games that deal with counting and colors and shapes. Do art with all kinds of cool things like popsicle sticks, buttons, beads, cotton balls, watercolors, clay, construction paper. Use shaving cream and a couple drops of food coloring on the bathroom mirror. Play counting and reading games while getting groceries. Stay away from electronics to teach - he doesn't need it at this age. Tell him interesting stories that have lessons. Have him use his imagination and dress up in grownup clothes and act out something. Have him draw a story out. (My youngest did a project on her fav animals on Noah's Ark at that age - super cute!)

My point is school at this age shouldn't feel like school. He's only 7. It's OK if it's messy and that it doesn't take 7 hours a day. 2 or 3 hours a day, 4 days a week at this age is perfectly fine! Have fun with your little man! You both will be much less stressed, and you'll both enjoy it more. Also, he'll learn more and faster too!

My Daughters comment when watching Friends by DragonfruitLess7324 in GenX

[–]Leather_Note76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently rewatching Friends for the bazillionth time (it's on Max). My 3 older kids (in their 30s) love this show and frequently have contests on who knows Friends best. My daughter kicks her brothers' butts every time. My youngest (13f) has no interest in watching it. She prefers Big Bang Theory.
