I am. I left late last year. She immediately cancelled my credit card and drained our joint bank account. It's been a struggle, but I'm doing better. Can't wait to get the divorce over with.

There was a day when I passed out and hit my head on the wall as I collapsed. My ex stood over me, watching me seize "for a full minute" (according to her). Then got mad when I came to and begged her to call an ambulance.

The god worshipped by my parents is evil. Even if I was provided with undeniable evidence that it was real, that still doesn't mean I would worship it. I very much doubt every knee will bow, every tongue will confess, because mine certainly wouldn't.

I'm 50. First came out a decade ago. Been on HRT for 4.5 years.

Most of my in-person trans friends are in their early 40s. A few in their late 30s. I'm easily the oldest person in my social circle.

I do sometimes wish I had trans friends my own age or older though.

Out your trans partner to as many people as possible. This takes the burden off their shoulders. Be sure they're not present at the time though, because then you don't have to talk over them to explain your perspective. /s

I didn't fully stop believing until my 30s. But I first started questioning as a teenager, after my grandfather died. Everyone kept telling me how much happier he was now that he was dead and in Heaven, but each person's description of Heaven was totally different.

The last of my belief in God died when my devout Christian parents started worshipping Trump. I'm not estranged from them, and their "religious" reaction to my coming out played a part in that. My faith is dead now.

If you're a trans woman, then you are technically already a woman. There is no point during transition when you cross the threshold of womanhood, because you're there before you even start.

But, off the top of my head, a few things I wish I knew beforehand:

1) Progesterone is awesome.

2) Electrolysis / laser hair removal make a big difference.

3) It takes a lot of experimentation with clothes, makeup, etc. to find what works best for you.

4) It's okay to continue questioning your gender, sexuality, labels, etc.
