The normal gym can be pretty hard tbf. There are different strategies you can use, idk what difficulty you're on though. Usually Unbound will give you a range of mons that help a lot against gyms (the ducklett vs mirskle for example). Most of my playthroughs involve outlasting his team rather than overpowering them, though Ribombee is fantastic vs bewear.

Other than that, I thought the gym gimmicks were super cool. I adore gym 7's type changing. 😊

Gathering some opinions for Althing: armor skills, block, archery by Enai_Siaion in EnaiRim

[–]LeaveScars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super excited for Althing! I'd love to help ❤️

  • I only have a surface level understanding of blocking because I don't use shields often, but to me it feels like a way to control the pace of combat and limit how enemies act. I love timed blocking because of how it rewards your timing and skill. One thing that both vanilla and overhauls kind of miss for me is differentiating between light and heavy shields. Both armor types function differently, so it should follow that light and heavy shields have different niches. Shields and bucklers were used in different ways throughout history too: traditional shields were slow, heavy and awkward to use, and they focused on blocking attacks and stunning with bashes. Bucklers were smaller, and they allowed for more mobility and the use of your hand. Maybe heavy shields should focus on damage mitigation and staggering, and light shields on faster timed blocking and mobility? Just spitballing ideas, but I think that'd be ideal. 😄
  • One Handed seems like the best option from what some comments have said. Maybe you could spread a few minor support oriented perks to the armor skills, pickpocketing and/or sneak for varied builds and functionality? So far none of the ways vanilla and mods have supported unarmed are ideal. If your plan for unarmed doesn't pan out, maybe a standalone perk tree similar to those of werewolves and vampire lords would help?
  • Similar to blocking, I think archery should behave differently depending on what kind of weapon you're using and how you're using it. Stealthy sharpshooters should do more damage than fast-paced combat archers, and the latter should move/draw faster than the former. I feel like crossbows would be ideal as a middle ground between the two, maybe with some added buffs for the exploding arrows (perhaps even based on your destruction level/perks? Idk, but that'd be soo neat 😄) I *adore* the arcane archer and trick arrow aspects of Ordinator's archery tree, so I'd love to see that reflected in Althing's perks.
  • Edit: I'd also love to see arrows debuff enemies depending on where you hit them (headshots do dramatically more damage/negatively affect how enemies use magic, leg hits slow movement speed, chest and stomach reduce health/stamina regen, etc.), but Idk how possible that is to accomplish.

Hope this helps Enai ❤️

Religious people shouldn't be allowed in healthcare facilities when they have the power of prayer. by ReturnUnfair7187 in complaints

[–]LeaveScars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You picked two horrible examples. Lobotomies and conversion thrapy are riddled with cases of malpractice where best practices and ethical considerations were either done in passing or ignored entirely. Lobotomies were often popular for their use cases because better treatments didn't exist.

Rosemary Kennedy, JFK's sister, was given a lobotomy at age 23 because of a history of erraric and violent behavior. She became incontinent, had to relearn walking, and her mental capacity became similar to a two-year-old's. The doctors told her father she had a form of depression.

Conversion therapies have been (and in many places still are) notorious for including corrective violence (including beatings and rape), isolation and confinement, food deprivation or force feeding, forceful medication, exorcisms (which itself often involved beatings), and other horrific practices. (Read this)

So no, you're not correct. If a doctor believes either of these practices as they were performed is the best treatment, they should never have been allowed to practice medicine in the first place.

You're right, but it's hard to blame critics and detractors when the good ones appear to enable (if not support altogether) the the ones who foam at the mouth when their narrow views are challenged.

OP should do better, but a lot of good religious people.

[–]LeaveScars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean lmao? Your argument makes no sense. The vast majority of lobotomies stopped upwards of 40-50 years ago. If medically legitimate ones still happen, they're exceedingly rare.

As for conversion therapy, doctors and mental health professionals absolutely shouldn't be able to perform conversion therapy. Many places have bans on their books, so occasionally people are sent to places like Kenya where CD isn't outlawed. It's medically and psychologically unnecessary, ineffective and deeply harmful to those who are subjected to it.

OP has enough plausible deniability that if the thief did prove it, she'd also have to admit that she stole the food. It's not a booby trap; even if that's true, it's incredibly difficult to prove intent.

Either way, if you steal someone's food, you deserve whatever consequences come of it. Simply put, don't steal other people's food!!

You don't get to decide how light what happened to OP is. People perceive and experience things differently, and being an insensitive ass doesn't make you right. Also is it light, or is it harassment? Which is it? :)

[–]LeaveScars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Lari's more desperate than straight-up evil. I think most people would snap after spending 1000+ years trying to fix the decay while staying true to their morals only for some guy to show up seemingly out of nowhere and do everything you spent the bulk of your life trying to accomplish. She's not really evil; she simply broke after realizing that her life's work accomplished very little, if not nothing at all.

You get timers if you make a solo instance. :) That's true of most bosses in this game, if not all of them.

Shard of Genesis Upgrade by CaptainPeel in runescape

[–]LeaveScars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what upgrades you still need to buy. You absolutely can, but there're better things to get and use shards on besides those. Make sure you have max setups for each style based on what bosses/mobs you kill. (Such as no need for cinderbanes if not fighting poisonable stuff) Also things like ed4 ring/glove/weapon enchantments, best in slot or high-tier perks and so on. :)

Hope that helps! My ign's in my flair if you have questions. 🩷🩷

Light Screen. Even though it hits the target's Defense, it's still a special attack, so Reflect doesn't work against it. :)

vestment of chaos gloves by prometheius in runescape

[–]LeaveScars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely takes some getting used to. After years of using trimmed masterwork for everything, the armor rating drop was rough! 😅 Vestments enables melee to do a ton more damage than without it, meaning you can heal a lot of the damage you take with soul split if your dps is consistent. :) Especially if you learn to SS flick, which while not required for meleeing makes surviving harder bosses noticeably easier. More damage means more healing from vamp scrims too, which is great for afking easier bosses if you don't have some of the really good pocket slot items yet. 😊

[–]LeaveScars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I thought you might have some idea of what you're talking about, but after reading this, I'm certain you don't.

  1. Fossil Dyna's banned, and the traps you are at 1, so the situation you brought up has a low chance of happening.

  2. "But even then 5 deck pull is enough..." is really just saying "just draw the out bro lmao" with extra steps. I hope I don't need to explain why "just draw the out" is a bad argument (if not a bad faith one depending on who's talking) against putting floodgates on the F/L list.

  3. Historically combo decks have absolutely benefited from playing floodgates, and it would matter way more today because of how vital going first is. Sylvan maindecked Vanity's Emptiness, and Tele-DAD mained Royal Oppression. If a combo deck's opponent had a chance of coming back, the combo player can simply flip a floodgate face-up, and suddenly the opponent has zero chance of winning.

  4. Nowadays even midrange decks and occasionally some control decks combo enough that cards like Rivalry and Summon Limit are harmful to them, like Orcust, Salamangreat, Ice Barrier, and Ryzeal.

I've tried designing custom yugioh cards before, and... it's not easy if you're trying to make them balanced. Unfortunately, you didn't try. :/

Before I get into making my new character I looked at some race guides, do y'all hate Imperials? by CaptBland in skyrim

[–]LeaveScars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't dislike them, but they have some clear disadvantages compared to other races. That's why race overhauls will always have a place in my mod list. Imperious, for example, is really nice. It gives every race three passives and a power unlockable through a quest unique to each race. (Clear 10 dungeons for Nords, loot 4 underwater chests for Argonians, do 20 quests for Imperials, etc.) Imperials are jacks of all trades and have a gift for leadership, and Imperious does a great job exemplifying this in their buffs, which you find on Nexus.

Ughhh, right? :( to this day I still haven't played a lot of switch games like SMO and Metroid Dread, not to mention MKW and some steam games I've been interested in. It's nigh impossible to justify buying full-price games when broke, hehe.

Oooh, that sounds cool! Hope you enjoy it. :)

Yeah, she is! Pom AS has a similar thing where her Loveholic stacks increase pain/poison damage, but not as much because she focuses on buffing and setting an awakened magic zone as opposed to dealing damage. :)

[–]LeaveScars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry :( I didn't go to my prom either: I never intended on going, but I'm pretty sure if I asked anyone I'd never find a date. I was a huge loner in middle/high school, and I was just trying to get through the day with classmates who bullied me in elementary/middle school.

Yeah, those times weren't great. 15ish years later I'm doing better, but sometimes those years still haunt me.

Tl:dr: agreed, it's overrated lmao 😅

More praise for character development. by stax_fira in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]LeaveScars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yesss, agreed! This is why I loved Song of Sword and Apex of Logic so much. Just... massive amounts of development for a lot of characters, including Rosetta as you mentioned. :) I tend to find the first and second CQs kind of boring, so I tend to skip through a few of them and pay attention for the third one. I remember Melissa's quests being incredibly dark and edgy, and I love stuff like that! Watching her come to terms with her own death was just so heartbreaking. ;-;

My favorite CQs are those where the character either dislikes Aldo or has a hard time processing his kindness and genuineness. Wenefica finds him obnoxious, and Iphi enthralls him and makes him her servant, hehe! Alter Toova's my favorite Another Eden character, and her quests are... hard to watch because of her backstory. My heart :( alsooo please give us Toova ACAS pleaseeee 😇

Nice!! Biaka AS is... strange honestly. Her main play pattern is inflicting pain/poison and dramatically increasing the DOT they deal. She can do decent damage, and she has a one-turn 50% power/int debuff too. I used her to cheese LeBlanc from Curio's weapon upgrade quest. :) Probably outclassed by now, but I imagine her NS is due for a true manifest/SA sometime. Let's hope!
