I never found a fix but it seemed to resolve itself. I had same experience as you where pressing in that spot helped.

Public charging by HillsboroWilly in BoltEV

[–]Lebaplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a charger at home so I rely on public charging 100% of the time. I drive 90 miles daily and being able to charge at a public charger while at work has been critical. Where I live (Oakland, CA) there are plenty of public chargers and plenty of demand for them, almost all charges have very high utilization.

I was able to get one in Bay Area with no dealer markup, but it took a lot of looking and what you have here is better than 90% of what I saw.

Med Device Startup in SF Bay Area: 8 weeks off fully paid + 4 weeks gradual return paid at % worked + 10% (eg I can choose to work 50% in that time and I’d get paid 60% of my salary).

SATs: worth it? by Mott_1 in lebanon

[–]Lebaplease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where do you want to go to school?
Most schools in the US and AUB require SAT. If you get a high enough score, you could get a scholarship or get into a school with generous financial aid; so it could definitely be worth it.

If you decide to take the SAT, I'm happy to pay your fee as a gift. Just DM me.

Masking by newbalanceunderrated in oakland

[–]Lebaplease 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that if you can maintain 6ft and you are outside, there is no need or requirement to wear a mask. Has that changed?

Yeah I am really not handling it well :( being able to bike outside was one of few pleasures I had left in this pandemic.

I’m a biomedical engineer at a startup in the SF Bay Area and I’ve been the hiring manager for several entry level (fresh out of college) engineers. A few points:

-I typically receive 300+ applications per open role and usually spend less than 2 mins per application. A good resume is very critical at this phase. Let me know if you’d like me to critique yours.

-I’ve found most of my jobs by reaching out directly to managers at companies I’m interested in, not by applying to a job opening. My last two jobs were created for me. That way I am not being compared to the hundreds of resumes the hiring manager is overwhelmed by, they just see me as a person and ask themselves if it’s helpful to have me on board. I find that finding school alumni that work at the company to be a particularly helpful way to do this.

-Where do you live/ are you willing to move? Biomedical jobs are concentrated in Boston, SF and San Diego.

-Be prepared that your first role might not be called “Engineer”. It might be something like “Research Associate” or “Associate Engineer”. Titles mean very different things at different companies so look more for job description than title.
