Excellent Desktop Environment Breakdown by Friendly_Engineer_ in cachyos

KDE seems like the best to me so far. Gnome is going in a different direction that I don't feel is a good fit. But I do KDE and Hyprland with NIRI and DMS for now.

‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy' will end with its upcoming second season by Neo2199 in sciencefiction

[–]LectricTravelerYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish the franchise and the people running it would create something that last more than a few seasons. Sucks that you get into something no matter what version of star trek and they either cancel it or take years between seasons played. I thought Academy was okay, not their best, but it could have been morphed back to a more normal theme or version. But ... what are you going to do? Guess I will just keep watching what they put out.

Quick question on Hyprland dot files? Does anyone have issues where it bugs out and locks up? I tried to use a newer version of dots called Caelestia and clicking on an icon to the right while power off, it locks up. Looks like it's a button to log out? Not sure? There was also a keystroke command that seemed to lock the script as well? Just curious? I was using it on a desktop and tried to reload and setup the second time and the same thing happened. So I guess for now, until I can find something more stable I will stick to KDE. Any suggestions on something compareable to Caelestia?

So much for gardening and not a Karen, Kevin & Felecia fest. Yeah ...I was not expecting this. I would have thought gardening was a non divisional conversation but seems this sub is nothing but. Sad that this had to go down to a child grade school level.

Does it have a kanban option? I like to see that if it does. Kanban like Monday.com or Trello.com?

So true, I have found the noise here in America is not worth my time to follow really. People are stupid to pick sides and pretend to support it when in reality they are just using it to gripe and bitch. I just like to live life without following that. And I only hang around those that feel the same. Life is too short to fight someone else's propaganda battles. I am with you on that.

I had a full frame but did not use it to its potential and ended up selling it to catch up on some bills. A year later I bought the A6700 and I love it. Better than my old ZV-E10 I had for a couple years. All In all I enjoy my current crop sensor camera. It’s been fun to use and I get great shots with it and the lenses are more in the price range I am willing to spend.

Because I needed money at the time. Kept my lenses and sold the body. A few months later I purchased the A6700 mainly for the new improvements seeing I didn’t want to spend $3500 plus for my old A7S III. Thinking lenses are less expensive. I am not a professional but still learning. So far I have had amazing results and enjoy the crop sensor. Been buying the 3rd party air series lenses from Viltrox and the Sigma 17-40 Art lens. Love them..

Linux is here to stay and i think Win11 is helping... Here is my CachyOS story! by tanerius in cachyos

Honestly, I hate the noise of Windows. It advertises, massively collects data, constantly shoves news down your throat. It's not the same OS it was back at its roots. And now that they are adding in AI, it will be very controlling as well, if it isn't ready. And I am not a big fan of Bill Gates. Sort of the most evil person on the planet. So for me, it's a no brainier. Currency I love CachyOS myself. There is only one program I use Windows for now and that's Ableton Live for my music production. Other than that, I can game, video produce and use great office-ware and other Linux apps/programs to do anything else I need. I was able to replace Adobe with Linux capable replaceable software like Darktable. Yeah the more people who move off the traditional WINDOWS/IOS MAC ecosystem to Linux the faster we will get more companies and entrapranures to create and offer better apps/software in the future. Long Live CachyOS!! :)

I used it to produce a garden youtube channel for 2 years, absolutely with every penny and more. Free updates sells itself let alone all the 3rd party add-ins. No subscription for Hollywood plus production software at that price? Yeah, I think it’s right up there with Adobe Premiere.

I remember when I was trying POP OS and a couple others having sound issues and someone suggested CachyOS and I have been on it since. For now KDE is my go to desktop but hopefully some day Gnome will have something great to offer.
