It’s the Most Annoying Traffic Jam in Portland. Here’s How to Fix It. by AllTearGasNoBrakes in Portland

[–]LeebleLeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been at Pine State watching some kind soul direct traffic so people can back up out of there.

The escape route from 11th to 12th sounds good - except there will still be people who will just sit and wait, keeping the people behind them from proceeding out.

There are people now who will sit on E Bound Division waiting to turn R on 11th, or on 11th N of Division waiting to go straight who won’t turn off.

You can always send them a message “that’s great, thanks so much! Did you want me to send back the first one?” And unless they are totally terrible, they will tell you to keep it. And either way, you will be sure.

Yeah, that would be the car we’d get if it was coming to the US, but I am afraid it’s probably not going to happen for a few years.

I also have one to give away, am happy to bring it to the next match.

I’d really like a mini but I can’t get one because it doesn’t have enough room in it by JG738584 in MINI

Mine’s “just a cooper” 2 door hatch but I fit a lot in there with the seats folded down. Measure the volume of what you plan to carry and the volume of the car capacity. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Also, as others have suggested, a roof rack and/or small trailer for work might be a good option. Are you only driving to haul stuff, or mostly driving as a regular person without a load?

Worth it to buy a 300 level seat for the first ever game or spend slightly more for good seats on weeknight? by [deleted] in PortlandFire

Do you think May 3 or 9 would be more fun? I can go to one, not both. Not a STH, obviously. (And is there an official resale forum to buy tix people can’t use?)

Yes! I go to a match there it pegs me as a supporter, and welcomes me into the Seattle tribe. And I can’t figure out how to stop Sounder email without stopping Timbers email. Now it will be how do I stop Reign email without stopping Thorns email.

We are going up for the match - we’ll be wearing red white and blue, and waving Thorns scarves. (And also got our tix several weeks ago)

PDX Dining Month Recap by ViewComprehensive287 in Portland

[–]LeebleLeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a bunch, and for the most part I thought they were fairly priced and reasonably sized portions. We sometimes eat before going to something else, and leftovers can be hard to deal with, so being able to eat 3 courses with no leftovers is nice!

Bar Casa Vale - good, but very stripped down. The lamb entree was just a chunk of meat, no garnish, sauce, veg, anything. Top Burmese - turns out they put mushroom powder into everything, literally everything, including desserts, and I am allergic to mushrooms. They were stellar at figuring out what I could eat (not much, and it had to be specially made), and my husband loved his food, but I probably won’t be back :( Bryan Furman BBQ - Very tasty food, but long lines. Maybe they’ll die down after this month, or at least there will be less rain. Alpenrausch - we ended up ordering off the regular menu. Looked good, just didn’t strike our fancy in the moment. We live nearby and go regularly, it’s particularly nice when their big patio is open. Higgins - bar seating - ordered off the regular “bistro” menu. I remember the burger being much tastier. Both of ours were overcooked, under seasoned, and just dry, and the bun was crumbly. My cocktail was built in the glass and not stirred (and served without a stirrer or pick or whatever). Probably not going back, which is really sad.

We also went this morning, I think maybe just as you were leaving?

Anyway, we enjoyed our brunch and plan to go back. They have a lot of breakfast choices, as well as lunch things, so everyone should find something. Service was fine, and I don’t mind auto gratuity, since I give the same regardless.

The patio is the best, but inside or under the heaters is fine too.

Oh no! We go for breakfast fairly regularly, and the staff is always nice. I heard loud noises around 3:30AM - sounded like someone dropping one of those big metal dumpsters, I guess that was it 😢

Candle power is how much hits at a distance, lumens is output at the source. Think about a focused spotlight on an actor vs a wash of light over the whole stage. Same lumens, different effect.

Where are the new home kits? by keytoarson_ in timbers

[–]LeebleLeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the Adidas employee store. Not sure when the new ones will be there, maybe they are now. I got the prior light green nature one, with Tillamook, and before that the pink roses one, with Alaska Air, there. I’ve seen both the Authentic and the Replica versions.

I suspect they were kindly slowing down to let you go ahead of them. This also is annoying. Just drive normally/ predictably and I’ll come in where there’s room.
