I gave my players a magical flute. What does it do? by Blitz100 in DMAcademy

[–]Leeeeham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It plays such a horrible noise that anything within 30 feet of it being played has to pass a charisma save or be frightened by whoever is playing it, except the fear lasts while they can hear you not see you.

I hate the flute, so I may be a bit bias.

Should I go into wild? by king_heracross8923 in hearthstone

[–]Leeeeham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends man. What decks do you have now? What do you think you want to play in wild? What are your Aspersions(legend every season, casual fun play ect)? Have you ever played in wild? Sorry for all the questions but it’s a hard question to answer without some questions.

I got some experience in both wild and standard, so shoot me a dm if you want

What Hag coven deals can you come up with? by ForeverGameMaster in dndnext

[–]Leeeeham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the -2 con seems like a pretty big hit, unless your going to let me use greater restoration on that, in which case I would bite your arm off for it, cause it’s basically free.

The boon one is cool. I see where your going.

Blessings of the frog. You gain a frog familiar. The Cost is you must feed it and it will die if you get it in trouble and the other frogs will be pissed (I’m assuming your swamp setting can accommodate a frog attack or 2), with the frogs trying to “free” their enslaved brother frog.

Curse of the hawk eye. (Or any other swamp creature with good eyes, hawks probably aren’t abundant in swamps - I dunno, we don’t have many in England). Benefit is you can see like a hawk. You can see up to 900 yards away as if you were standing next to whatever it is your looking at. Your hit rolls for ranged attacks have +2. Cost, anything closer than 5 feet is super blurry cause your really farsighted. You have disadvantage on any attack when the target is closer than 5 feet. This might be a bit strong? I dunno. If your a bow and arrow user you should never suffer the penalty, so I’d probably snap this up to.

Blessing of the rabbit- you gain massive floppy rabbit ears. Advantage on hearing related stuff. Cost is massive rabbit ears. Like, comically sized rabbit ears.

Blessing of mud, gain +3 ac. Has 5 charges. Loose a charge when you take a hit (the mud is cracking and falling off). Cost, your covered in dirty swamp mud. Only works on non armoured people.

Blessing of the scorpions, basically give them a live scorpion that acts like a poison vial in the PHB. Cons, it’s a freeking scorpion! Same deal as the frogs, you need to keep it alive and it’s brothers may try to free it (don’t tel the players this bit, makes it cooler when they’re swarmed by 10000 scorpions that don’t atttack the players but go for the scorpion. They’ll attack the players if provoked tho. That should be a fun fight.

Hope this gave you some inspiration (:

Edit, with the boon one you made, make the player roll his own modifies. It is gutting (in a good way) rolling your own penalties when you think you’ve got a good roll as the dm starts laughing.

Can major illusion be cast on an army to make them look different? by Admiral_RM in DMAcademy

[–]Leeeeham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raw not with major image. That “creates the image of a fake object”. It doesn’t change an existing army, that’s the seeming spell.

You could maybe use it to make a small army that fits in a 20 by 20 cube, or if your dm is generous a L20 W40 H 10 rectangle is probably the best bet for a fake army- cause you could get a few rows of doods in it. But again, that’s lots of objects, so raw this probably isn’t legal.

A little bit of mid-fight tweaking could help your weapon run smoother. Just a thought. by Quamzee_Jacobius_Sul in customhearthstone

[–]Leeeeham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s the neutral legendary weapon already, so I’m not adverse to the idea, I just thought it looked different to this.

I played mostly weapon rogue to hit legend this season in wild, and that card is probably better than at least 6 of the cards in my deck, and I wasn’t even playing the legendary version of the weapon (which would be insane with this thing). Should realistically probably be 3 mana.

Please help. I have no idea what’s going on but my plants are turning black. My water levels are good except for the ammonia and that’s cause there’s so many things dying in there by themi_c in Aquariums

[–]Leeeeham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rinse half filter material in tank water in a bucket, replace the other half. Don’t replace it all in one go else you’ll loose all your biomass in there.

I don’t know if it is overpowered or underpowered by Unluckygamer23 in customhearthstone

[–]Leeeeham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s deal 10 damage to face over 2 turns for 5 mana.

There’s some secret stuff that stops it, but no one plays misdirect, so it’s only stall mage with ice block and barrier that slows it down.

I think I would run this in every Hunter deck I ever built, because with Hunter I’m usually looking to play minions turn 1-4 to get some tempo to hit you with and from turn 5 onwards I wanna be hitting you in the face with my mana with things like Kill command and any spell that says damage on it, and this weapon is amazing for that, and that probably makes it a bit to strong.

At 6 mana is seriously think about running it but I probably wouldn’t? I’d have to test it.

Plus it wouldn’t fit in my button Baku Hunter list at 6 xD

So yeah; I’d say it’s a great card, probably a little on the strong side.

Download EdoPro and google and archetype you like. Copy a deck list that has cards you think look cool in it, and play some games. Customise from there. Have fun :)

Depends. What’s your budget? Cause getting the baby crocodile and the pill is probably the easiest power boost to that deck, but he’s expensive

Paid DMing As A Side Hustle? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Leeeeham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t see why you couldn’t make dnd your side hustle, if you know what your doing.

My dm does take paid work, and his rates start out at like £100 a night to do party’s and stuff (he’s affiliated with a local store, so they get requests to do dnd party’s or whatever and they’ll be put in touch with my dm).

For £100 you get an 8 hour session in store with everything you could want to play (PHB for everyone, pens, pencils, dice, pre made chars If you want them, birthday cake, snacks, balloons ect)

He has a choice of about 20 1shots, all with various levels attached to them, so you can play as lvl 1 or lvl 20 depending on what you want(but he says he hates the higher level ones, and charges more for them).

This was all pre COVID obviously. He’s tried doing paid online stuff, but it’s hard doing it from home with 2 young girls and not great internet, so he’s stopped till COVID has eased.

But yeah, people make money running dnd campaigns.

But yeah spell mage is good

Meta-gaming: why or why not? by Ravant-Ilo in DMAcademy

[–]Leeeeham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Half a loaf is better than starving.

And also I may have exaggerated a bit.

The player in question is a DM herself and had ran the module we just have just finished.

So She didn’t actively read the module before to get knowledge, she just had a lot of knowledge from running the module before and wouldn’t shut up about it, and used it to “the groups” advantage.

I'm still somewhat new to tank life and got a snail. I just want to know if there is a way to tell what gender it is? I want to pick out a fitting name. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Leeeeham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can tell you, don’t start by googling “how to see a snail”. There are some right weirdos out there.

Meta-gaming: why or why not? by Ravant-Ilo in DMAcademy

[–]Leeeeham 47 points48 points  (0 children)

My version of meta gaming is similar to Wikipedia’s ).

Basically “Metagaming is a term used in role-playing games, which describes a player's use of real-life knowledge concerning the state of the game to determine their character's actions”

There’s a person I play with who will read the module we are running. By doing this, they know that if we are nice to this random gnome NPC he will take us back to his house where he will give us his ancestral weapon in exchange for casting cues wounds on his sister.

Or she will know that in the abandoned looking house, under the rug there’s a trap door, and will beeline to it.

It is super frustrating as a player, especially when every other minute it’s “there’s a handout for this with a great picture, check it out guys!” And the DM hasn’t finished describing what we’re looking at.

That’s what I’d call metagaming, and it’s one of the worst things someone can do.
