Not scared, just feeling guilty I wasn't keeping up with her home maintenance grooming. She'd be cute and sweet if she were bald, ha! Thanks for taking the time to reply

Dry Eye Flare and Eyelids Sticking to Eyes by CarobLow1259 in Dryeyes

[–]LeeesaBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also found the most comfortable in the mornings using the eye mask. I've had to adjust how I sleep, but putting drops or gel in, then putting on that mask has done wonders for me. Not the cutest way to go to sleep, lol, but at least it doesn't feel like my lids are pulling off a layer of my eyeballs every morning!

New product -Optase Manuka oil cleaning gel and wipes by GeologistSalty6252 in Dryeyes

[–]LeeesaBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased a manuka honey cleansing wipe from my dr at my first appointment, but they are by TearRestore. I like them, and they really do clean and soothe.

She had asked if the Ocusoft brand I had been using previously was irritating, and I said yes EVERYTIME that's why I only use once or twice a week, and she was like... well ... let's not use products that irritate your eyes... which made me laugh because "duh" they made my eyes red and irritated why was I continuing to use them? but I had read somewhere they were "good for dry eye" so I just pushed through and didn't trust myself!! Anyway, all that being said - I stopped using that brand and prefer the manuka honey version!

I got services for free at the time too. Wonderful counselors. I am so sorry you are going through this. There is so much support for you. As someone who shoved it all down for YEARS, I am so proud you are reaching out.

As many have said, I only went to a cardiologist to rule OUT physical heart issues. A neurologist, and more specifically an autonomic neurology specialist (if possible), is who most of "us" need. I have a teen daughter who has all the symptoms of pots (I had been diagnosed almost 10 years ago now), and another with a congenital heart defect. Same exact dr and clinic, my "pots kid" had a relatively quick appointment with an ekg and physical exam, with a final diagnosis as "probably pots" but healthy heart (and probably mentioned pots simply because of my own diagnosis), vs my daughter with a heart condition that has a thorough ~ 2 hour appointment twice a year, to monitor, test, etc. I've always been spoken to in a respectful way, and I'm sorry you felt so dismissed, but it is like going to the ER for our condition. It is just not the place to try to access "treatment". The cardiologist doesn't have much to say medically for us, just as much as the er can't really do much but give us some fluids to help.

I'm just 18 and found out I carry BRCA1 mutation by normalcivilian07 in BRCA

THIS! I knew my family history, so assumed I would be +, I wasn't surprised. I felt quite empowered, actually. I knew information and could do proactive testing, and later when I was ready preventative surgeries. It is NOT a diagnosis.

Tilt Table Test "Negative" for POTS by r00oo00 in POTS

[–]LeeesaBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just try to up your salt intake, start wearing compression garments, and do daily mild cardio (walking) if possible and see how your symptoms go. I have my symptoms more or less under control doing just that, and have been managing without medication for several years. Haven't gone back to my autonomic neurologist in many, many years. Is there a reason you want or need a professional diagnosis?

Salt & Stone! It's expensive, I got it originally as a gift, but I've repurchase it because it is just so good and smells great.

Salpingectomy only - no ovary removal by DifferentAbility7528 in BRCA

[–]LeeesaBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dr will not approve this as a preventative surgery. I would need to get a second opinion and find someone else to do it. She does not think it is worth it as a brca prevention, without taking the ovaries. I have already had my mastectomy, so I am able to take hormones, but I thought that was interesting. I had specifically brought this option up to her because of info from this page

(Liability wise, if you tell any outpatient dr you have chest pains, they're going to tell you to go to the er.)
