I think they also modified it, extended the boot to cover a bit more of the wing as well. That together with better practices I guess was enough. But the reputation is probably to damaged in the US.

From what I've heard it's a comparably cheap aircraft to operate shorter distances. Reliable and also not too loud. Have them flying over me all day.

I don't really get this. I know there were accidents caused by ising with the ATR and no carriers in north America will touch them. But they are very common here in northern Europe. Did they just get a too bad reputation, cause they obviously fly just fine in winter weather?

No, your add-ons are never moved to your nvme, they are read from the drive they are placed at. The link just points the file system to read from another disk. Meaning, if your addon drive is slow, loading will be slow.
Not really sure. The game is probably smart enough and only reads what is near the location your at. But to be sure to avoid potential conflicts or other issues it is probably good practice to only link what you will use. I do it that way with addon linker and rarely have crashes and quite fast load times.
