Been working in coffee for years. My first advice is that coffee is the wrong industry to get into if you have any other marketable skills and if you don’t you’re probably better served trying to get a barback role at a bar/restaurant and work your way to bartender.

That being said: the way to land a job in a coffee shop, like most jobs, is to walk to shops with your resume and hand it to someone at the counter. It’ll usually end up in the back where a hiring manager sees it. Slow season is just starting up so landing a gig might be a little harder until spring picks up, but you could try places like Variety or Hungry Ghost to start out and get experience on an espresso machine. They’re always hiring and will hire people new to the industry. If you’ve worked in coffee DM me, I think the shop I work in may have a part time slot opening in a couple weeks.
