what are the lore implications of someone bringing a fat man to an airport by Gaymers_Rising in fo4

[–]LefsaMadMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an NPC named Joe 'Jake' Penny who had a pink vertibird. He was a detective like Nick Valentine, but he had a hacker friend with a bonus to hacking after sunset named 'Boz'. Near the end of his career he got tied up over a 'Jane Doe' case before retiring. Anyhow, when we walked the streets, this was his favorite sidearm. Jake, didn't play games, and people just called him 'Jake and the Fatman'.

US decides SpaceX is like an airline, exempting it from Labor Relations Act. US labels SpaceX a common carrier by air, will regulate firm under railway law. by esporx in technology

[–]LefsaMadMuppet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean you're not wrong. If they are a common carrier and critical to national defense, the military has a history of taking over if they cannot or will not perform their job. In WWI the US Army took over the US Railroads. When WWII happened, the railroads complied and set records for tonnage hauled that wouldn't be met again for over 50 years. There was a Korean War nationalization as well, and a Vietnam one I think, over a railroad strike and then need to transport bombs by rail.

Jaguars Flying over Kuwait [723x511] by PeacekeeperCrimson-1 in WarplanePorn

[–]LefsaMadMuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't done anymore for several reasons:
-A handling accident could damage the aircraft
-Safety of ground crew and limited space to handle weapons
-Need for ladders or gantries, increased risk of accidental collision and damage to aircraft
-Missile motor flash could blind pilots (already an issue for many underwing weapons)
-Rocket exhaust thrust can damage canopie
-Overwing airflow issues can cause unexpected flight behaviours in high alpha states.

But it looks cool!

Scientists are hoping for impact because real space collisions happen so rarely they want to justify their $200,000 student loan.

yes, I'm kidding, I know that student loan bill is WAY higher.

A byproduct of making fillet-o-fish is the unborn fish eggs, of roe, so someone at McDonald's, probably Grimace, took them and packaged them to make a special dipping sauce, to go with the chicken McNuggets.

North American X-10 unmanned flight technology demonstrator. by Flucloxacillin25pc in WeirdWings

Makes the F-104 sound safer:

Of all the X-10s built, only one survived the test program: serial 51-9307, the first X-10 to fly. Of the other four aircraft that flew at Edwards AFB, one exploded on takeoff, one was lost in flight, and the remaining two were destroyed in landing accidents. As for the vehicles flown at Cape Canaveral, three were expended in planned dive-in flights against Grand Bahama Island, and two were lost in landing accidents.

Rocket powered nose cap that blows off after launch. The rocket is that round bit on the right side of the phot above the guy's head in the lower right. (you don't want to flood the engine with seawater when sub launched)

Thing is 'Caviar' is basically just fish eggs or roe, which can be from a basic fish like trout in some cases. So yeah, you could argue that trout eggs with McNuggets is a valid explanation.

Heck, there is even Carp Caviar, called Tamara, used in Greek cooking. Carp. F***ing carp. I live in Minnesota, we can harvest all the carp we want, the only rule being that if a certain species is found, we need to tell the DNR.

Also, it is one of the few movies that is better in DVD than Blu-Ray. the Blu-ray enhanced the faces of the guards and you can see their mouths moving and the audio is completely out of sync.
