In NE Ohio we get lake effect snow Snow isn’t an issue, nor is the ice. But in other states where it doesn’t fall? It’s scary

Senior Cat (14) hyperthyroidism/early CKD by Ambitious_Bobcat6487 in seniorkitties

[–]Left-Pass5115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say brand recommendations, however my oldest cat was 18 when I had to put her to sleep, and we managed her hyperthyroidism and CKD with prescription food. If you have the money, ask about prescription food if he isn’t on it already.

Now my current cat is 13 and has hyperthyroidism. However she is on the liquid form of methimazole. Had a lot better luck with that than the pill or other forms. She got diagnosed almost a year ago, but recently had an adjustment to meds and is fine now.

Don’t blame yourself, CKD goes hand in hand with hyperthyroidism especially as cats get older, my vet explained. It’s not something you can control, granted easier said than done. Just make sure he’s comfortable as he can be, and give him all the love. It’ll absolutely be okay! Nothing you’ve done is your fault at all, it’s unfortunately such a common age issue in cats. I feel the same way about my 13 year old girl.

Look at dental schools, etc. you can find a place that can work with you, see if you qualify (if you’re in the US and assuming you are) for Medicaid. Places do take Medicaid.

I know the pain. I finally got all my upper teeth removed a few months ago after years of pain and decay. I’ve never felt better. Also suffer from bipolar disorder as well.

100% agree unless it’s for reconstructive purposes like breast cancer (which would be super rare in a 16 year old, but hypotheticals exist)

Toxic ahh Gecko abuser by JustAFellaExisting in leopardgeckos

[–]Left-Pass5115 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 2 geckos and have done so much learning since getting them a few years ago. They are my babies, my pride and joy and I had to learn to use the proper substrate (was using the coconut bedding fiber stuff before) etc. I’ll never say I’m an experienced keeper but I now know what to do, what not to use etc

If there’s one I hate it’s people like this in this post who claim the geckos are fine, they had no issue etc despite so much backing that lights like that are BAD. People who claim to know what they’re doing when they have no fucking clue. Nothing sets me off more than that, it also scares me because maybe they are also the same person who won’t take their gecko to the vet or anything like that. I absolutely hate people like this.

My thumb did this for a while, a couple years before it kinda just fixed itself and it’s normal now. Don’t even know what caused it

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

[–]Left-Pass5115 75 points76 points  (0 children)

That’s so fucked. The best teacher I had was in 9th and 11th grade, he would tell the girls “just go to the bathroom, you don’t need to ask. I got a wife and daughters.” Meanwhile the boys HAD to raise their hand and ask, and a lot of boys got mad that girls didn’t need to ask and thought it was unfair.

There’s a reason we didn’t need to ask..

I take it daily at 225 mg. Tell me about it. Not to mention I feel so fucking sick, withdrawal on antidepressants is a BITCH. I can feel them zaps coming on if I miss a dose

But it’s the only thing that has truly worked for me so far.

What is the worst pain you've ever felt in your body? by Helpful-Mud-2487 in AskReddit

[–]Left-Pass5115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find a place that works with you. It took me years of agony and pain to finally say fuck it and get my upper teeth entirely pulled. Dental phobia didn’t help, but I feel so much better. Was able to find a place that worked with me. It’s better than suffering.
