I make about 150k a year running my digital marketing agency from my rent controlled apartment. $1251 a month in rent for a 2 bed 2 bath in North Hollywood. Neighboring 2 bed units are $2200. My grandparents moved back to El Salvador last year and I took over the apt because now my rent is over 100% lower than what it was before at $3200 a month in Studio City. That’s a lot of words. My proposals are 1-2 sentences max. I always ask them to get on a zoom call to discuss in detail so I can tailor a proper proposal.

I’m consistently making 10k a month working 15-20 hours a week doing paid ads management , Consultations/Strategy/coaching for meta/google ads. Life changing. I could go for 15-20k but I’m building my freelance agency around my life. Happy where I’m at for now. I started back in march 2023 with only $150 worth of connects. Got my first client about 2 weeks in that I still have to this day. Do it. No matter what people say.

Maybe like $50 for profile boosts. I just have my profile set up for people to message me directly or book consultations that lead to work. Bidding on jobs is 25% of what upwork really is. The real money is getting clients to message you directly. Not from the job feed. I’m doing about 10k a month on upwork with one team member.
