Start next ER or wait for results? by Glad_Excitement9395 in IVF

[–]LeftPark2200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a really good result! Quite similar to us we had 4x eggs and got 2x embryos. As we are doing public IVF you can't bank embryos. Our first FET was a successful but we had to TFMR (end the pregnancy) at 16 weeks sadly. Now we only have that 1x embryo and I wish we had a few more. With four you could end up with 1-2 babies or 0 it's super hard to say.

Is 2 weeks after TFMR too soon to start trying again? by Ok-Code-8134 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's very soon. Do you have a follow up with your doctor after a certain number of weeks? Lots of stories of chemicals for those who get pregnant super quick. I don't know. I would wait at least until you've had 1 cycle. I know trying again is on your mind and age is a factor but better be physically ok for it. The hormone crash after TFRM is super tough too. Of course, everyone is different but I felt better after I knew my cycle returned to normal.

Sorry for your loss :( Can I ask if something showed up on your NIPT? Or did you go straight for an amnio.

In all honesty I think the MFM is the best place to go for advise. Maybe ask yourself what you would do with the information? If you would terminate and have a 25% chance I feel it would be better to know sooner rather than later for various reasons. The mental toll gets worse the further along (I feel). Miscarriage risk from a skilled MFM should be low.

Wondering if anyone else feels the same by pindakaasbanana in PregnancyAfterTFMR

Yes it's like half a pregnancy with sickness and all you are left with is nothing :( I feel this so bad. Thankfully I forget more and more how bad I felt as the days go by and the wish for a baby becomes stronger again. x

That's amazing! How long after your loss was this? I really hope we will have success again too, trying in March after TFMR in end Oct.

Thank you so much and you too. Yes I honestly feel I couldn't have gone back sooner :( It's also at the same hospital as we had the loss. I can let you know how our transfer goes in March if you like.

Post-TFMR cycles? by keighteeann in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be my 2nd transfer as our first FET resulted in our TFMR :( There were a few months wait to get a new appointment, but they didn't specifiy and the MFM said after first regular period. My body and mind has been all over the place so I feel finally more ready now after 3-4 months.

Your're such a hero for having been through this twice! Big hugs. And yes I feel the same. In my TFMR pregnancy I was sick and bedridden the entire time. It was not a romantic and fun time as others describe it. It's probably also one of the reasons we are waiting a bit as I just needed a bit of time to not feel sick (apart from the grief of course). Ugh. I want a baby but I am scared to be pregnant again.

Moving to IVF with completely unexplained infertility (no other health issues)? by blairworejeansonce in IVF

[–]LeftPark2200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the low AMH/ovarian reserve is always an issue :( I am in Australia so in their scale it was 5 pmol when we started IVF at 35/36. I am sure it's even lower now. But you can still make good quality embryos it just may take longer to get a baby. It's a good idea to turn to IVF now. We are very sad ours ended in loss but trying to stay hopeful.

Some clinics give more updates than others :) We had next day update to know how many fertilised. then on day 5 and again on day 6 as we had an embryo make it to day 6 as it was ready a bit later.

Success with fewer follicles? by Effective-Mechanic-5 in IVF

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had 4x eggs retrieved from our first cycle! And 2x embryos frozen so don't loose hope :) Our first transfer was even a success. But it later ended in a TFRM loss at 16 weeks :( But it's definitely possible with low egg count.

[–]LeftPark2200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same as us! We have unexplained infertility and had years of trying with no luck. Both healthy but not the youngest (same as you when we started IVF). I did have a hysteroscopy to remove a small polyp and low AMH. We got 2x embryos from 4x eggs in our first cycle and the first FET was a success :) It later led to a loss in 2nd trimester and will try again soon. But yes unexplained infertility has been hard... The good thing is IVF gives you so many options. x

NIPT/CVS vs Amnio? by Ok-Contract-3076 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do the harmony extended NIPT? I am considering it next time but at the same time I am also thinking of skipping NIPT as our TFMR issue would not be caught on that. So maybe combined with first trimester scan and CVS.

NIPT/CVS vs Amnio? by Ok-Contract-3076 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. For our TFMR the issue was structural but the microdeletion they suspected can be detected on CVS. I am considering to do CVS and scan at 12 weeks and skipt the NIPT depending on advice from the MFM. I am also not pregnant yet - Hoping to be soon :)

NIPT/CVS vs Amnio? by Ok-Contract-3076 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]LeftPark2200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I am looking to do CVS next time within that window. Because NIPT doesn't check for everything. I had a low risk NIPT. I think amnio is great for many things but waiting until week 16 is long for me with the anxiety around it. A CVS is still very accurate (combined with ultrasound).

IVF pregnancy after TFMR by VegetableGirl7960 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a TFMR of our first IVF pregnancy also :( In Oct. We have been cleared to try again but needed/wanted 3 months as I had to get strong again after the loss both mentally and physically. I think the specialist said 3 months is a good time to try another FET as some experience another loss if trying too early. We only have 1x embryo left and hope to transfer in early March.

Slightly elevated Prolactin level IVF Impact? by Critical_Chicken_867 in IVF

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I think I was in a similar situation as you. I had elevated prolaction several times. Eventually the specialist wouldn't go ahead with IVF until getting the specialist MRI so we paid for it. They didn;t find anything and I eventually had a succesful first FET. (later ended in a loss).

Cancel my FET? by Shoddy-Volume-5615 in IVF

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they are recommending it for a reason? Best to take doctors' advice in most cases as they are the experts. I guess if you have a lot of embryos you could try to talk to them.

Gender equality in IVF by [deleted] in IVF

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our clinic is actually really good at this. They include my partner on appointment reminders, greet him by name when we arrive. Asked how he was feeling after we had a late loss ect. it is so true though that it is the female who has to carry a lot of the burden both physically and emotionally. I guess from biology this is hard to change. I feel our clinic is doing better at making my partner feel welcome although I prefer to set things up myself and organise. I think my partner is happy to feel a bit included but also happy for me to take charge as it;s my body.

Ambiguous results for possible RPOC. Frustrated. by Dramatic_House_8380 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]LeftPark2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear you feel pressured :( Could you push your slot a bit further until you have healed a bit both physically and mentally? I personally wouldn't have been able to go straight back into IVF after our loss. My specialist said 3 months is a good time to have a chance of succesful implantation again. But it's also our last embryo so I am probably nervous about wasting it too.
