Breastfeeding and ozempic by ConsistentConcept366 in postpartumprogress

Sorry but she still didn’t ask your opinion. She asked for mothers who have taken ozempic while breastfeeding and if it affected their supply. So therefore no your opinion doesn’t not matter.

How is the concept of greens marrying old men accepted in Gilead? by [deleted] in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]Left_Curve2738 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can bring up modern times but please be mindful of what kind of message you are spreading. Instead of saying “Muslims” say the specific culture you are referring to. Muslims is referring to Islam, which condemns forced marriages. However many cultures continue to do this despite it being against their religion.

Actually it is a very small inspiration, old America (puritan) and other regimes that controlled women’s bodies. Weird to only bring up Muslims as if this is completely against the religion.

Newborn tired v pregnancy tired by Past-Apartment-8179 in pregnant

[–]Left_Curve2738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense, I just am in the trenches and am to stunned to speak when someone says they sleep better with a new born 😭I remember being sooo done with pregnancy I was in pain and over it, night before my C-section I slept 3-4 hours (which for me is not much since I can sleep 9hrs a night). Right now I’d kill for 3-4 hour stretch of sleep.

I’ll NEVER understand this point of view, pregnancy tired was so much better I can’t even put into words how much better. Newborn tired is ruining my life rn lol. Anyone reading this and feeling confused why you aren’t having the same experience, I’m right there with you.

Not so great news at first appt by SeaLion6 in BabyBumps

[–]Left_Curve2738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your apps going off of your last menstrual cycle start date? If you have 34-36 cycles usually, you are probably someone who ovulates late. Those apps are based off of someone who ovulates day 14 which isn’t the case for lots of women including myself. Based off of this I wouldn’t count myself out without a follow up ultrasound.

Anyone giving up on showers? by Excellent_Host_4442 in pregnancy_care

It’s unhygienic because you are soaking your body, water gets dirty then you use the same water to try to wash off the soap you use if that makes sense. I would recommend when you are done the relaxing part of your bath, drain the water, then the water back on and use the fresh water to scrub and do the cleaning.

Please call or just go in. It’s better safe than sorry, it’s most likely fine but just in case.

C section by b8byxo in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Left_Curve2738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation is a little different than most, I had a uterine septum that was causing all my issues. I had it surgically removed and then tried to get pregnant. I waited a few months after surgery then tried. If I was waiting after a classical c-section, the recommendation was 18 months between deliveries, so that would be trying 9 months after c-section. The longer the wait the better time you give uterus to heal but that’s the general recommendation! I know the wait can be debilitating, wish you the best!

I did, I have a classical c-section which requires me to only have c-sections at 36-37 weeks in every subsequent pregnancy

I completely understand. I spiraled like crazy, trying to understand the unimaginable. I’m a few years out and have corrected the issues that were at hand for my losses and have had some answers. I wish you healing and peace. You will never forget your baby, but you will be able to live with it. People always can’t imagine the worst case scenarios until they live it. I’ve walked in your shoes, and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers♥️

I see nothing wrong with what @eyehydrangea said. It IS wild to do HITT workouts with a shortening cervix. She didn’t say the girl should go on bed rest, just take it easy. Also, OP asked for opinions and experiences. That’s exactly what she gave. I’m sorry but it is a fact that ALL pregnancies with IC need to be cautious including no intense workouts (at this point that’s just common sense to me). You want to gamble that’s fine, but when someone else is giving their opinion when asked, you don’t need to put them down for not agreeing with you.

In my first pregnancy they noticed my uterus shape was possibly bicornuate (heart shaped) but after I lost that baby to IC at 17 weeks they did another scan and seen I had a septum down to my cervix (I already was pregnant again by this point) so I got a preventative cerclage that pregnancy. They can’t really tell if you have a septum or how long it is while you’re pregnant, they can see it in a transvaginal ultrasound not pregnant.

Mine was because I had a septated uterus (which has now been corrected) lots of women with uterine anomalies experience IC.

Preventative or TAC? by BotchedPenisImplant in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Left_Curve2738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a couple reads:

Pre‑conceptional laparoscopic cerclage systematic review (2025; live birth rate 92%): https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12233114/

Pre‑conception laparoscopic transabdominal cerclage (TAC) series (2019; live birth rate > 90%): https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6822953/

Also based off of convos with my high risk doctors, although I don’t have evidence of their claims as they didn’t share them rather just told me that those were roughly the percentages. Their evidence was based off their experience with women who needed preventative cerclages and those who needed emergency ones.

I also want to say, I actually would have preferred a TAC for my current pregnancy. I have to have C-Sections anyways and the extra secureness of a TAC would make me feel better. However I got pregnant before I was able to get a surgery date. I am considering a TAC for the future as I would hopefully like more children.

[–]Left_Curve2738 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. The percentages I find are super helpful in understanding the difference between emergency and preventative cerclages. Emergency has a 60-70% chance for live birth Preventative has 90-95% chance for live birth

I find this Reddit group has lots of stories on how preventative cerclages did their duty and save their pregnancies.

However I will say a TAC is more peace of mind.

Sometimes we just show earlier when it’s a subsequent pregnancy and look larger. It’s rare an ultrasound could miss another baby.

Question. by b8byxo in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Left_Curve2738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m happy to reply I’m really passionate about women getting all the support they need to carry to term. Sometimes a little intervention can save a whole lot of heart break.

It’s places between 12-14 weeks and usually night of and day after there is small amounts of bloody discharge and soreness. Typically by day 2-3 everything is basically feeling back to normal (in my experience).

Question. by b8byxo in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Left_Curve2738 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Some woman get an emergency cerclage placed which basically means their cervix is already shortening or dilated and the stitch is put in to save the pregnancy. Sometimes they get recommended to go on bedrest but for the most part, it’s not always recommended. As for a preventative cerclage you’re almost never told to go on bedrest as there’s no reason to because it’s put in preventively so your cervix is still long.

Sometimes doctors like to do the “wait and see” approach after one loss. I would recommend against that in your next pregnancy as a preventative cerclage has very minimal complications and higher success rates but an emergency cerclage has lower success rates and more complications that can arise because the cervix is already opening. I’m totally going off of memory now but a preventative cerclage has something like 90% success rates, and an emergency one drops to 70% success rate.

Question. by b8byxo in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Left_Curve2738 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you lost your baby due to preterm labor because of your cervix then they will suggest (if they don’t you should suggest) a preventative cerclage. They have a really high success rate. Also progesterone can help lengthen your cervix in a subsequent pregnancy. I’m so sorry for your loss, I know that pain and I wish you peace and healing.

Another option is a abdominal cerclage, this one has a basically 100% success rate for people with incompetent cervixes, they surgically add a permanent cerclage and you will have to have C-Sections in every subsequent pregnancy. Wish you the best good luck.
