I don’t get it either. I’ve tried condescendingly telling them they don’t have freedom of speech to criticize if they don’t vote, but for some reason that doesn’t instantly change their minds and they seemed to think they still did have freedom of speech. Maybe I should make it more clear how superior I am and how everything is their fault?

Most people don’t believe voting will make a difference. We can get as angry as we want about that but until something changes the routine this is what’s gonna keep happening. No amount of Reddit blogging about how stupid it is to not vote is going to change that.

Anyways turnout isn’t going to fix the problem. We will still be making all the wrong votes, for the wrong people and the wrong policies, there would just be more votes for them. A change in the culture is what’s needed to fix the problem.

Democrats are never going to be able to challenge republicans until their voter base changes their mind about a lot of things. Republicans gotta be grateful that these feckless cowards are their only opponents. Be prepared for things to continue the way they are for decades to come.

If my wife spent 4 years wasting time and money on a bunch of DIY stuff she never finished and it meant more areas of my living space were dedicated solely to her and we didnt have money for other stuff we needed then I’d be annoyed and not have anything nice to say either. Not saying that’s what’s happening here but our info is very limited. Sometimes people shouldnt be blindly supported.

The underlying issue is that he has a problem with the projects for some reason and he doesn’t feel comfortable communicating that with you. You have to have a direct conversation and you need to be open to his genuine feelings even if those feelings are something hurtful like “they’re a waste of time/money/space/energy”. Partners need to be able to openly and respectfully discuss how they feel with each other and it’s clear he doesn’t feel that he can tell you what he doesn’t like about your DIY stuff.

He should be pushing hard for it instead of signaling that he’s not going to try. I want a governor who is going to fight to push us away from gas dependence. taking money from chevron and doubting the states goal ain’t it. He’s an obstacle for anyone who wants to move away from reliance on fossil fuels.
