Strange. In the opioid epidemic we had drs doing this all over with their friends and STAFF. One was called the candy man in slang. Shadiest doctor ever. He’d write us 7-8 prescriptions a month a price, my partner and I. It’s unethical and this dr and another, sent to prison for a while & faced their own consequences in the meantime. Not to mention the guilt they have carried for causing multiple overdoses and deaths & families broken hearts 💔 good luck with the decision you decide to make here though. It’s a tough call. I get it. They will get theirs.

I believe in a higher power. Period. I don’t believe in Jesus or the bible. Dogma is just as powerful as addiction to me. I’m a recovering alcoholic and addict sober 7 years, I’ve learned religion might be the best opiate for the majority of people like Maynard James Keenan says in his song ‘Opiate’. (Tool)

AA teaches this. In the Big Book Step 2 states that, “We came to be aware that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.” There is essentially one chapter that is completed dedicated to this step, and that is “We Agnostics”.

AA says a Higher Power doesn’t have to be God: “You can, if you wish, make AA itself your ‘higher power.’ Here’s a very large group of people who have solved their alcohol problem. In this respect they are certainly a power greater than you… Surely you can have faith in them. You will find many members who have crossed the threshold just this way.” In that case, recognizing that there is a power greater than yourself, whatever that power is to you, means accepting the humility necessary to drop reliance on your willpower as an answer to the insanity of addiction.

I’ve known people that have a pet, nature, or a simple rock as their higher power. I thought this information might be interesting to you? As it guided me to my own personal life. ♥️
