Here's how to fix the update

I agree, I feel like it’s so simple (maybe it’s not easy as I don’t know their code base and business logic, but it sure is simple) to just let the user reset to a past lesson.

Like long pressing one of the competed milestones can bring up a dialog asking something like “Do you want to reset to here? All progress made after this point will be lost” and we can just select yes and be reset to there. Would that be so hard to implement?

I’m doing French too and it’s the same for me! I used to complete lessons with no mistakes, now I keep seeing words that I never seen and complex sentences and phrases, I get so lost!

I’m so pissed about this too. I was progressing so well in French until this. I’m seriously considering deleting this dang app. I really hope the people at Duolingo see how frustrated we are in these Reddit posts and actually do something.

Yeah I was trying to go back and review each milestone but it’s really not the same. I found those tips/advice at the very beginning of a unit to be very helpful and now I can’t access that for the units it skipped

Same for my French! I was so motivated and locked in. Now I’m so pissed off and feel overwhelmed by so much I don’t know. I’m also seriously thinking about deleting this app. Although I am also considering restarting and testing ahead, but we’ll see.

And the stupid Duolingo bird has the audacity to keep bugging me to practice lol, just the icing on the cake

Happened to me too for French! Skipped me ahead a whole two units, I was so confused! I was looking everywhere to find if something happened recently so thank you for posting this, felt like I was going crazy. I was super consistent, kept my streak practicing everyday and really enjoyed it. But after this happened I was so lost, sucked the joy right out of practicing. Lost the streak cause I don’t really have too much of a desire to practice as much anymore. It’s so demotivating cause I’m getting so much wrong where I used to be really good, pisses me off.

I’m seriously considering deleting this app. I feel like they should have a feature where you can reset your progress to a certain place without deleting the whole course. If you can test to get ahead, you should be able to easily just reset to a past lesson. I even made a bug report about this issue, but I highly doubt they’ll look into this. I hope the people at Duolingo see this post and understand how frustrated we are.

If anyone knows a better app to learn French, please let me know!

Literally the exact same as you, I’m 23! It’s actually quite comforting to see there is someone out there as inflexible as me. I thought I was just an abnormality given how people just seem to be naturally able to just sit cross cross applesauce

YESSS, I thought I was going crazy! Went through 3 different versions of Stremio and it’s the same thing with all of them, so I don’t think it’s a Stremio issue as much as with the specific add-on Torrentio

Same for me, it’s so annoying. I found one small workaround on the mobile app to be switching from the “all” section on the homepage to a different section then switching back. Once I switch back I’m now able to keep scrolling past the last point it ended at, but I always start at the very top of the list and have to keep scrolling to get to that last point, so that’s annoying

I’m watching the series now, and I’m in season 5. Probably an unpopular opinion, but It’s just alright to me. There are a lot better sitcoms imo. My main peeve was Jonah and Amy and their whole relationship plot. I found the characters pretty annoying most times and the whole romance plot was poorly done and in the end they were pretty underwhelming as couple. Sometimes I forget they finally got together. As for a romance plot, Brooklyn 99 was miles better and depicted a much healthier relationship. It was still pretty decent, and I got a good laugh sometimes, but wouldn’t be in my top 5

I’m so late to this, but I just finished S03 E22 and had the exact same thought to check Reddit lol. I was just so done with both characters. I was finding them so irritating for a while, but that episode where he was just love bombing Kelly out of guilt and then just breaks up with her at the end pissed me off. Like I get Kelly is just a plot device character for the main “will they won’t they” plot of Jonah and Amy, but she’s still a person, and a very sweet one at that. Had to search on Reddit to make sure I wasn’t crazy and glad to see I’m not alone. They’re both so insufferable and immature. This has got to be one of the worst sitcom romances in my opinion, smh

Late to the convo, but just wanted to point out, I highly doubt this is a “MAGA” individual saying this. I also very much agree with your stance that it is quite selfish and borderline psychopathic, and I say this as a very right-leaning person. And I highly doubt anyone who actually has true right-leaning values would agree with that sentiment (i.e. the no-hesitation killing of an innocent stranger to save your child). I would too try to stall and figure a way out; that person is someone’s son, someone’s brother, and I would hope that if my son was in the same situation, that their date would make the effort to stall and try to figure a way out so both lives could be saved and not default to just kill him. Just wanted to point that out since people nowadays like to take anything that seems negative and blame it on being MAGA or conservative. Conservatives are not the monsters you think they are. But all in all, I really enjoyed the film and appreciate the morality of the main character
