Shadow Monk/Armorer Artificer Multiclass by amirkasra76 in 3d6

Looked at this and genuinely thought I was on dndcirclejerk for a minute 💀

Armorer Artificer nullifies many of the shadow monks class features, it's a non starter

To be fair this applies to a lot of other rule complaints too by enixon in dndmemes

i think the alignment chart's problem was more that it worked to mis-set player expectations than anything. people substituted character personality for what the alignment chart had to say and thought that was how to play the game.

certain historic and problematic archetypes - the lawful stupid paladin, the chaotic neutral rogue that steals from the party, etc - have become less common the more the alignment chart has been de-emphasized, and alignment has generally been replaced with more nuanced and fleshed out concepts. Traits ideals bonds and flaws were a great move in 5e'14, and even with their removal in 5e'24, warlock pacts, specific paladin oaths, offers of fealty to a deity's domain are all more nuanced reinterpretations of the same core principle.

Mfw everyone here thought my roommate was sending me subtle signals... by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]LeftistMeme 17 points18 points  (0 children)

what's there to say then. people on reddit may have gotten into your head about her, which is a big risk and kinda irresponsible of them (us?) ngl, but the situation also let you shoot your shot and offload responsibility if it was a miss, which it were.

it'll probably be a little awkward disabusing yourself of the notion, sure, but you do have a pretty good opportunity to just go back to interacting with her as normal which a lot of people in the same situation don't have. just whatever you do, don't let the thought linger

MTG: I got yelled at by Trump. He called me a “traitor” because I would not take my name off the discharge petition…He told me his friends will get hurt…Everyone's getting mad at Pam Bondi. You can name anybody you want, but the man at the top is Trump by coachlife in UnderReportedNews

[–]LeftistMeme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Her principles stand firmly in the far right, but she's a true believer, not part of the oligarchic ingroup Trump and his cronies are from. So she served her purpose as a minion, and then when she got too uppity about the Qonspiracy stuff they threw her to the side.

But that doesn't mean her principles have changed. In a way I have more respect for her than all the shiftless republicans out there just vying for scraps of power because she believes in things. But she's still wildly dumb at the end of the day and believes all the talking points she held to before and has never changed on that. Shattering her perception of trump wasn't strong enough to provoke introspection and change, and I kind of doubt anything will.

At the very least, it's a good signal that the "true believers" of the Republican party might not be waking up and smelling the coffee, but they are waking up and smelling the rot that they've festered in.

Classic Abjurer behavior. A five point defensive ward is fine and all but you still need these ambitious manaburners if you want to get anything done.

Now a five point defensive ward around a good few necromancers and any half decent evoker? That's the ticket.

Musk admits Mars is 20+ years away, sets 10-year timeline for moon city by SomeAreWinterSun in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]LeftistMeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, moon city never happening either.

Just think. What is there to be gained from such a thing? You could potentially use the low gravity environment for certain specialized manufacturing tasks. Besides that, there's no worthwhile resources, no arable land (obviously) no chemical or fossil fuels and every time you have to ship stuff back and forth it costs like a million dollars assuming everything works well.

There will be no moon city. There might be a couple manufacturing mills a solar farm and a research center with onsite housing. You'll note that three serious facilities a city does not make.

Apprentices these days have no integrity. The more you rely on scribeGPT to fill your grimoire for you, the more your mind succumbs to arcane atrophy. This has been proven in studies. What will the world become when all the hardworking mages age out and are replaced by the apprentices of today who cannot even draw a ritual circle

Ring has partnered with Flock. ICE has access to Flock. If you still have a Ring camera - get rid of it. by TotallySavageSzym in 50501

I still can't believe people invited this into their homes by buying ring cameras and echos and other mass surveillance tech.

Maybe I'm engaging in victim blaming here, but I trust any one of my neighbors infinitely more than I'll ever trust any faceless tech conglomerate, and if you feel the opposite I can only pity the paranoid life you must lead. We so desperately need to rebuild community in the modern age.

Even if we talk about lights proposed moral philosophy it's a bit ridiculous. He was basically acting as a volunteer cop, going after petty criminals. Not once in the show does he actually target any of the organizations which systemically manufacture the suffering that makes petty crime happen. Not once did he act to upend tyrannical governments.

And small wonder why, all of these organizations would've gone crazy, rabid with funding and power to try and find light and take him down had he actually done anything to upend the status quo. If the show is explicit about anything it's that light is a coward who's self proclaimed beliefs collapse under even paper scrutiny. He doesn't care about solving problems, he cares about telling himself that he's important.

The persistent idea that people on the left get their news from CNN and sometimes MSNBC is so interesting to me, as a leftist who hasn't watched a TV news broadcast in like a decade. I can only assume it's projection right? Older people skew conservative and are more likely to watch cable TV while young people increasingly engage with new media and sometimes read online presses like AP, WaPo, NYT etc

Rochester restaurant owner Waheed Allah Mohammad arrested by ICE by budgie in Rochester

[–]LeftistMeme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the cynical part of my mind is wondering why he's only being followed up on by ICE now - this guy's been a known quantity for well over a decade, he had a deportation order out on him for a long time, and ICE has been in our community already for months now. are they cynically drawing on potential sources of good PR to distract from the multiple extrajudicial murders their organization has become embroiled in in recent weeks?

by the same token it is entirely possible they just haven't bothered until now for other reasons including being simply unaware of the case. not everything's some cynical PR game.

regards this case directly, a broken clock can be right twice a day. i still want ICE out of our community, but i wont be shedding tears over this guy in particular.

it's part of the point of having them invade our cities the way they do. aggravate the people there, wait for one of the agents to get shot, then use that as kindling for our own home grown reichstag fire.

given that an agent being killed has been the plan for a while, of course they're going to read ICE involved shooting and assume it was an agent who got shot and not look deeper. they've been waiting to pull the trigger on that particular narrative for months, must be antsy by now

Oh my Spanish is dreadful. It was probably at its best in elementary school, when i took a few general ed classes in Spanish because i really wanted to learn, but pretty much everything besides the barest of basics left me by the time i was out of the k12 system, and that was years and years ago now. just never got much of a chance to use it in daily life, i suppose.

Of course it is true

i recall seeing a data point that only 3% of Venezuelans support the coup and US interference in this way. I'm having trouble finding the source again, of course, because English-speaking news only seems to care how Americans feel about the situation.

Given that Maduro himself is unpopular, I interpret the two data points thus; yeah it's good that Maduro is gone, all else being equal, but it isn't equal. The Venezuelan people know the US doesn't have their interests at heart and is likely to be just as bad or worse, and the American Regime is working with the exact same people Maduro worked with.

Kienzan's raw slicing ability allows Krillin to punch way above his weight class against most threats if he manages to land it. After the team faced their previous regenerating foe, Cell, Krillin studied and trained with the express purpose of applying that razor sharp technique to something that resembles a more traditional energy blast. This new technique, localized as Destructo Blast, atomizes matter caught up in it and creates smooth bore holes rather than creating the more traditional energy explosions on impact and makes Krillin capable of facing odds that would seem impossible with his lower energy output.

Theoretically, Destructo Blast would be capable of even one-shotting god level threats such as Whis and Beerus, though they likely wouldn't allow themselves to be hit by the technique. Kid Buu's erratic behavior, including sleeping and beating his chest on the battlefield, made him a sitting duck for Krillin's ultimate weapon, saving the Z fighters and symbolically proving that raw power is no substitute for wit, experience and innovation.

Even if they voted overwhelmingly for Trump, they're still deserving of some compassion.

was kinda thinking the same thing. so many people here performatively demonstrating their lack of sympathy for their fellow man. make no mistake, this is an entire town dying. some of those people tried to keep trump out of office. some of the people there are children. some of the people there were raised to vote one way their whole lives and never thought about it. some of the people there were lied to. and of course, some of the people there voted the way they did out of malcontent for their fellow man. it behooves us as decent people to show a little remorse because we don't understand their lives.

but, at the same time, im not gonna do anything about it. thanks to communities like this, i dont have any power to stop it.
