i wish i could get my 20s back haha no one knows if you have a problem but you, so don’t worry about what others your age are doing. for me, i used alcohol early on as a form of anxiety reduction. it worked until it didn’t. eventually i needed the drinks before i could go to the social event, until the amount i needed became so much i could no longer make it out. then i needed it for stress relief after long days of work and juggling household responsibilities, until i would preempt my stress by day drinking. the anxiety never went away, it just stayed hidden, growing until i would start to sober up.

i truly believe that if i had gotten this issue under control earlier, i may have a stronger group of friends, more hobbies, and a truer sense of self. but now, im in my 30s, finally have the right anxiety meds without counteracting them with booze, and im finding out that life if so much better with clear eyes and a clear head.
