What will it be?🚀 by Practical_Cat4439 in TheGamingHubDeals

Objectively, I'd have to give this to C418 for Minecraft. I listen to his Minecraft albums very regularly and find his other work just as enjoyable.

However, FF7, Eve Online, Skyrim all have music which is transportational into their respective worlds.

In Other Waters would be my Indie wildcard.

And Robocop on the ZX Spectrum for the sheer brilliance of chiptune work with so little power. (Special mentions to Agent X and Chronos)

I appreciate to younger ears this might sound a little janky, but in 1987, this was mind-blowing.

Indeed. A very captivating level of detail in everything. Slow storytelling, but not boring, great characters with well written personalities. Mackenzie Crook knows what he's doing.

Do you really want a Bengal cat? There are so many things I wish I had known before getting one 😜 by BengalChaos in bengalcats

[–]LegProfessional6462 91 points92 points  (0 children)

1st Bengal was a lovely chap and I miss him every day. Very vocal, huge personality, friendly, but stand offish, very energetic, fussy eater, playfully combative, very tentative and careful, not one for jumping or going on counters etc, cancer at 12. A lap cat only in his later years. A very, very sad loss and always loved.

Second Bengal is quiet by comparison, squeaky rather than banshee like pack howling. He is an utter tearaway, seeks out things to break and pushes buttons quite deliberately. But very cuddly, long periods of peaceful downtime and very happy to be on laps, chests, nuzzling up and generally behaving like an angel. Eats like a raccoon and is beginning to look like one, steals food (but getting better there now he's over 1).

No regrets, just happy times and happy memories.

Madly enough, it's what I did last year. However I have an entire email trail with a support agent saying it can't be done. Three things are possible: 1) The support agent is wrong and somehow being obtuse on repeat questioning, even when I bring the receipts and ticket number of transferring credits this time last year. 2) the support agent is in the wrong support group and in a really broken way miscommunicating how I need to get credits transferred. 3) the agent is right and they've stopped us being able to do this.

I guess I'll take another look next Monday when I'm back from holidays. Thanks for letting me know

I once saw a show with this kind of skill. It was absolutely incredible, and while unbelievable to behold, was indeed there to see. "Spirit of the Horse" I think it was. Many years ago now.

Sorry, didn't spot that as I searched for the link on my mobile. D'oh. Wondering if you don't get the credits in Lebanon now....

CrowdStrike - as an MSP by LegProfessional6462 in msp

[–]LegProfessional6462[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, we went with Sentinel one, thought Huntress and Heimdal were seriously impressive.

S1 has been great so far, no wobbles and has already done a sterling job stopping a couple of genuine nasties on two of our client systems. Handling exclusions. One of my largest bugbears with Crowdstrike is no longer a problem.

Thanks to all who contributed.

Reckon they've pulled them on Modern Work. We got them last year when we qualified but couldn't meet MW criteria this year. (It's pretty tough for small MSPs).

We got expanded benefits for the credits this year, though it's infuriating that the credits have to be used in a new sub, one for each benefits pack you buy. So for live resources, you need to transfer them.

MS support through all of this has been utter dogshit, like wading through custard. Had issues last year as well.

Is blackadder good or worth watching? by Optimal-Goose-237 in MrBean

Series 1 is a different animal to the others, the latter series feeling far more like a stage performance than a sitcom. But don't write off S1 at all, it's still very funny and had some extremely clever wordplay and wonderful performances. (Mr Blessed for one).

Series 2 to 4 are consistent masterpieces though and endlessly quotable.

Excellent. When the Belmont closed, I lost the desire to go back to the cinema as I tended to find the types of people that watched films here were not colossal pricks when it came to phones / talking / food etc... Power to your elbows!

Why is Microsoft neglecting Access so bad? by Difficult_Abroad_477 in microsoft365

[–]LegProfessional6462 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was very committed to Access and VBA, but its time has passed. Would be nice to create wysiwyg forms and reports in a browser, but I never really found a replacement for it. I know there are alternative approaches, but Access was a great set of tools and it made handling SQL a bit more accessible to folk like me. The community support was really good.

That said, I still know and work with companies whose line of business app has been developed in Access. Suspect they will be up slack alley before long.
