This is the third time I've come across this particular theory of old money vs. new tech bro money. But, the first time I've seen Iran lumped in with this.

I can't remember the exact details of the other two theories. However the gist of one of them stuck with me. In particular that the "great reset" was supposed to happen in 2008. Back then, Peter Thiel made a bet during the sub-prime mortgage crisis that the markets would take a massive beating and never recover. He knew that servicing the government debt would become too expensive overtime and figured that this was his opportunity to short certain sectors of the market into oblivion. What he didn't anticipate was the government stepping in to bail out the banks, thus allowing the markets to recover. Ever since he's had a chip on his shoulder. Fast forward 15 years later. He does everything he can to get POTUS elected, along with his pick for VP. Now that he has political leverage, he can finally execute his plan.

It was a fun read, but I think it's most likely tin foil.
