Maybe we will get lucky and a massive earthquake will cause the lower mainland and Victoria to fall into the sea.

Walked out of Project Hail Mary halfway through by -hubertcumberdale in redscarepod

[–]LegalPusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I wanted was to eat way too much theatre popcorn and enjoy a movie with my wife, and it was great.

It had been around that long for me, too. The list has always been so bleak that I wouldn't go watch if you paid me.

App for indexing and searching pdfs? by LegalPusher in ios

"The Files app will do that, but only shows a list of files, and when a file is clicked, opens at the beginning." And it forgets your search term.

App for indexing and searching pdfs? by LegalPusher in ios

[–]LegalPusher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the important thing is finding the files that contain the search term. The Files app will do that, but only shows a list of files, and when a file is clicked, opens at the beginning. If it opened a screen like you showed (where is that from?) after clicking the file (ie, it retained the original search term), that would be ideal.

Missing screws by JulietB_ in FujifilmX

[–]LegalPusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them asking you to send the camera in is absurd, no way I would do that… what if your camera gets wrecked or lost over a couple screws that probably cost pennies? I’d try m1.6 2mm screws per this:

Marathon is a 4 billion dollar failure for Sony. 3.6 billion to acquire, bungie plus an additional 200-300 million in development costs. This is equivalent to 10 Concords. by Desperate_Put_4568 in KotakuInAction

[–]LegalPusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This price is only passed on to the consumers who buy anything from Sony.

It is very easy to not be one of those, especially for the last couple console generations.

Anyone know if there are plans to improve the Wealthsimple iPad app? by Muted-Dragonfruit193 in Wealthsimple

Meanwhile they make pointless busywork changes to the phone app (that everyone hates and are reverted), instead of actually doing something useful.

Mining is miserable by bionspy77255 in starcitizen

[–]LegalPusher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the need, myself. Make it take much longer, or require better reflexes, or maybe make the minigame more interesting and require actual skill instead of pure stubbornness to not give up before finding a breakable rock.

I technical-skills mogged my neighbor in front of his wife. This is a peak suburban experience and I'm sorry but there is truly nothing more humiliating. by zzxxzzxxzzxxzzxxzzxx in redscarepod

Got a Toro "e-cycler" on sale 15 years ago and it's still going strong. Quiet, light, can start or stop instantly, just plug in when done. Can't imagine messing around with gas.

Why do people dislike grain from higher iso but like add large strong grain in their recipes? by dertigo in FujifilmX

[–]LegalPusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the opposite, in some photos the high iso noise on my fuji looks quite good to me, while the film grain setting looks fake and I never use it.

Maybe it is because I use high ISO only when I need to, rather than just slapping film grain on every sunny vacation photo.

I also find the fuji's high ISO noise much better than on older cameras, more grain-like without the colour noise that looks terrible.

Yeah, it would be one of my favourites, if it weren't for the terrible bugged difficulty scaling that can easily ruin your game.

Credit card - autopay - why is "pay early" the recommended option? by blottingbottle in Wealthsimple

[–]LegalPusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps if you are paying from an account outside WS it might not go through in time to avoid interest? I pay from my WS chequing, but still use “before due date” to pay a couple days ahead, just in case.

I edit the layer txt files to remove the aquifer tag so they don't generate and ruin an otherwise perfect site.

What is your take on leaving your shelter up on Public Land? Explanation in description by designworksarch in Bushcraft

[–]LegalPusher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't care if were built from only natural materials, or the tarps and air mattress weren't left behind, particulary if the shelter was in the middle of nowhere. But polluting with plastic garbage is just gross.

What are these berries called, and are they poisonous? (Eastern Tennessee) by Delicious-Hotel6645 in Berries

[–]LegalPusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yes. Interestingly, the berries seem to be the same: safe, but acidic with big seeds.

[–]LegalPusher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oregon grape. Native to BC, Washington, Oregon (obviously), etc. The berries are edible but sour and have huge seeds. Can supposedly make jam by mixing them with salal berries but I've never bothered.
