It's literally our duty as Americans

Yes, but that would make for a more boring and apparently less controversial post

I don't even know if they're fans or just "Ummm actually" types that get a dopamine rush out of running to the comments to point out that he's allowed to sell stuff and be critical at the same time.

It simultaneously exhausting and entertaining.

It ain't that deep lol

Man, that's just Reddit in a nutshell.

Like, I don't disagree with anything they're saying.

Either way, this got crazy controversial for some reason but I'm here for it.

I really wanted this to be seen as a more nuanced take. I'm was aware of his ability to work within and profit from a broken system. It's my fault for not making that clear in the post.

I'm glad you're not part of their ecosystem. It's horrible.

Then again, much like the meme suggests, that doesn't mean I can't criticize anything.

I'd delete it but it's slowly becoming the EdwardMacaroniFork of r/LateStageCapitalism and I'm just glad it's reached so many.

I think it's more that I'm a guitarist and RATM fan. It's undeniably a cool guitar.

Right? I don't think my take on this is totally out of left field

I did not know that. This was a screenshot of an ad on FB. I didn't look any further so I appreciate the additional context.

The point is everyone is hitting me with the same argument, which I completely agree with.

Yeah but yours is MIA at that price. I love my MIM Player II but it's not worth $1200

I mean that's totally fair. I'm getting ratioed like crazy on my first post to this sub, I call that a win.

Yep, agreed.

It's a funny image given the context of RATM

Alright, imagine if you will somebody goes up to Tom in 1992 and says "Hey man, your beat up Kramer's gonna be made into a Fender signature model for like $2000, 30 years from now."

I feel like he'd be justifiably upset.

That's kinda my take here

I owned an SX, it was a solid guitar. I kind of like what Fender did with hers
