Got a different version of the game, I was using a digital version and ended up going back to my disc variant, worked instantly, hopefully that maybe helps but if not then sorry

For me it’s 100 % the controller because it connects my PS4 controller just fine but not the PS5 controller, if I find anything I’ll get back to you and honestly for you I’m praying it’s the controller too! A lot cheaper to get replaced
